Great starter kit
You can make any color with this set. The cheat sheet is helpful. White vinegar is required to set the dye and easily found in a grocery store.

Good packaging. So far - getting results I need
First time using Acid dye. Have been getting very vibrant colors. Had to research more to be clear on instructions how to use this kind of dye. Good packaging. So far - getting results I need.

BATHE YOUR WOOL in JACQUARD
I am a wool snob and have been for 65+ yrs. other fibers don't please me. The smell of wet wool is one of my favorites. Natural dyeing began the odyssey, but the color range is limited and mordants are, well - dangerous. Acid dyes for wool are magnificent and Jacquard are tried and true. Predictable. Repeatable. Luscious colors. Nuff said.

Definitely recommend these for dyeing wool yarn!
These are beautiful, vibrant colors! I mixed the dyes to achieve the hues I wanted. They are easy to use and inexpensive. I definitely will be buying again.

Better to buy pre-mixed colors in a shade you need
Black as a single dye worked as expected. Mixing colors did not produce promised results. Instruction is very incomplete. Just ratios of different colors without specifying how much water and how much acid to add. Besides, there is no primary colors. All options are "designer" shades of normal colors. I usually have hard time styling unusual colors. They don't go with any other colors besides white or black.

OK product or user error?
I almost gave it 3 stars because the colors seem to break and at times, especially when mixing. I can't seem to get good coverage on all batches. However, I gave it a 4 because I need to dye more wool and do a few things differently next time to see if it was user error to be fair. I didn't give 5 stars because there are no instructions included with the set and you have to go online to get them. They also aren't the greatest of instructions. On a good note, the colors when they strike properly are as they should be. If I were starting out dying, I wouldn't be afraid to purchase this set.

Excellent value for starter sets
Terrific value here at Amazon, with a mordant thrown in! Remember that acid dyes can be used with the mordant provided, or with simple household white vinegar. The acid is not in the dye, it's all about the mordants. A nice set if you're jumping into dyeing and don't want to invest too much at the start. Remember that your primary colors will be enough to get secondary colors, but to get shades (black or grey added to the hue) or tints (adding white to the hue) you need to expand your dye supply to include those blending colors.
