This calendar measures 15 ½ inches from top to bottom and is 8 ¼ inches wide. The calendar has a hook at the top to make it convenient to hang it from the wall. Each month has a fanciful picture that measures 11 ½ inches from top to bottom and is 7 ½ inches wide. Each picture includes a thought for the month carefully printed within it. For example, the thought for the month for June is “Love makes the world look beautiful. When there is love, there is beauty. When love is drying up in your life, look for the beauty around you. That is where love can be found.” I think most readers will agree that this thought encourages us to slow down and appreciate the beauty around us. Not a bad idea.A problem with this calendar mentioned by other reviewers is that the calendar itself is small, measuring 2 inches high and 3 ½ inches wide and is located at the bottom of the page. If this calendar is hanging on the wall, it will be difficult to make out the date on the calendar without walking up to it. Also, the small text will be difficult to read. That said, the lovely pictures will had some brightness to any room where the calendar is displayed and that is a good thing.For me the pictures and text are good enough for me to give this calendar four stars, but with the warning that if the calendar is placed on the wall it will be difficult to see the dates and the writing.

I can see how there are going to be very differing opinions on this calendar, and how well you like it is really going to depend on what your intended use of it is.For me, I plan on using it more as an artwork piece, and not as a functional calendar to write down important dates. I work in an office setting, so any important dates I have are kept electronically on my Outlook calendar. But I spend an average of 10 hours per day in my office, so I try to make it as comfortable and inviting as possible. This calendar is the perfect way to add some beauty and inspiration, with the bonus that I'm able to change the picture and quote every month and look forward to something new on my wall. The little calendar at the bottom is just a nice bonus that makes this wall art not only beautiful, but functional as well. And it's also nice that it lasts for 16 months - with all of the months getting a full page.If you're looking for a calendar to use for remembering important dates and jotting down appointments - this is definitely not the calendar for you. If you're looking for something beautiful to hang on your wall and maybe want to glance at the monthly calendar every once in a while - this calendar is perfect. It's got amazing artwork and inspirational quotes for a full 16 months - exactly what I was looking for.

I like the size as it fits perfectly in a spot on wall by my desk. I like the graphics a lot. Simple yet striking, the artwork is timeless and soothing. The text on the graphics are something that I'm not sure about. I understand that it comes from a book, so I'll see if I can check it out. Maybe I'm missing some of the context. That said, the text isn't distracting because my eyes focus on the art and month section so the calendar works for me.Bonus points that it starts in September because mentally, I feel like the year starts in September. A carryover from school kid days and California's school calendar which starts in September.

I loved it that this calendar, unlike most called 16 month calendars, actually had 16 pages, with September-December of 2018 getting pages as well as the 2019 months. Most of the illustrations were lovely---peacefully pretty, all with tiny people against a large nature scene. A couple of the pictures were less interesting---one being mostly just a large blob representing a tree---but it works at some level too. The saying were fine---I didn't find them that deep or meaningful, but they are calm, positive ideas to keep in mind. Overall, a calendar I'd be proud to give as a gift or display in my home.

This is an attractive calendar with numerous really inspirational quotes, beautiful artwork and a sixteen quality months where the remaining 2018 calendar pages are just as nice and the same quality as the 2019 calendar pages.So why three stars? Well, for one, it's too narrow. It's only eight inches across. I normally prefer a calendar to be at least eleven-inches in width. The narrow width is partially responsible for my next complaint, that the months are too small. The actual month box is only 2.5 x 3.5 inches and there are no holidays, significant dates or other info on the days. It's just a bare bones calendar. Lastly, the paper quality feels like it was printed at home. The stock is not nearly as thick or professional felling as other calendars in my home. There is no gloss finish nor any other fancy paper attributes.This is probably a very nice calendar for a minimalist or someone looking for this more artistic over utilitarian style but I prefer larger calendars with holidays and other useful info that I can quickly glance at rather than seeking out my phone. If the dates are too small or don't offer any helpful info, it's really not much use to me, no matter how nice it looks.

This calendar “The Things You Can Only See When You Slow Down” has very nice long pages of artwork and meaningful phrases. My problem with it is that I use calendars to write reminders to myself of appointments and other important events. This calendar does not provide the space to write any notes whatsoever, unless you choose to write over the art work. This calendar would be nice for someone who uses alternative methods of reminders, but not for me.

Good quality, encourages a positive outlook.
