Genuine Ring batteries so long life, rechargeable and not much more than generic ones. Easy to change and fits most Ring devices.

This is a well thought out product that powers some Ring doorbells, cameras and siren.In use connection between the battery and the device is made by gold plated spring loaded contacts (pogo contacts). The battery is held against these contacts by a substantial metal pawl with a release pad.Outside the device the battery is charged by a standard USB micro B connector. Whilst being charged two LEDs illuminated and one goes out at full charge.There is a school of thought that the type of discharge should influence the rate of charge. E.g. a pistol drill that uses bursts of high current should be charged relatively quickly. In the case of Ring products, modern technology and careful hardware and software design means that the typical current is very low and Ring seems to have opted for a 40 hour charge regime.On a typical installation you are likely to have several batteries in use and it is worthwhile having a spare that can be charged ready to be swopped in as a battery becomes discharged. It's a good idea to date batteries since they do have a finite life.Overall a well designed product that simply does what is expected.

Had a power outage for the power ring/line my plugged in Ring Cameras are on, and these barely lasted 6 hours after it went out. That is terrible considering the one in the doorbell lasts weeks/more, though with luck power outages shouldn't last that long (We're in the UK, they're rare in the area I'm in.) To be fair the off brand ones didn't last any longer, so no win there.

It holds a solid charge and gives me plenty of power for my Ring doorbell, lasting several weeks between charges depending on activity. I ended up buying a second one so I always have a backup ready to go. It’s a simple but essential accessory if you want to keep your Ring devices running smoothly without interruption. Although the battery life on our doorbell is reasonable (2-3 months), we decided to buy a spare battery because the charging time on these is quite slow (4-6 hours) - having a spare means that when the app reports a low battery condition, we can charge up the spare and swap it out, so we are not left without a functioning doorbell for a period of time.As expected, the spare is the same as the original so no complaints - you can get cheaper 3rd-party batteries but as this official one is a reasonable price I went for this.
