Development Boards & Kits - AVR Pro Trinket 5V 16MHz

Packs a punch but don't get rid of your Arduinos just yet
This little trinket packs the power of an Arduino uno into a tiny board, trimming not only it's size, but also it's price tag.Do not be fooled however, this serves a slightly different purpose to the Uno despite almost being the same board. I wouldn't for example recommend this as a prototyping board as its connections need to be permanently soldered. This is more a board that lends itself to a more permanent nature within smaller projects which have gone beyond the hardware prototype stage.A small amendment to the Arduino code does need to be made if you are using the Arduino interface to upload to it, but this is easily done and readily available on the internet. There are a few less usable ports on this compared to Uno too, but lets face it, when have you ever had to use all of them?Well recommended.

Highly recommended, just like a mini UNO
Same great quality as I have come to expect from Adafruit. Plenty of good advice on their web site as well. I would trust these more than the cheaper version out there especially if I was developing code for a new project. At least you know the hardware is good! 5V makes it a little difficult for low current/small projects as getting small 5V battery supply is not so easy as a 3.2v coin cell or 3.7 Li-Poly, but if you have need of lots of pins and to drive some sensors from the same supply then it makes it easy. You are best off programming this with an FTDI friend from Adafruit, makes life so simple!

Great little device with lots of functionality!
Brilliant little microcontroller! Easy to set up and use with the arduino software. It has the same number of pins as the arduino uno but is amazingly small, perfect for small projects!
