98% vegan cookbook :)
We are a vegan family who also has allergies, yeah we are the life of the party, lol. Anyway I bought this for the allergy aspect and planned on doing my regular vegan swaps but the cookbook is like 98% vegan which is fantastic! Down to earth and easy to read, great for allergy families.

Biggest Support of an Allergen-Free Diet!
I do not typically write reviews on items, but this one was so helpful for my family and I that I had to. My husband was diagnosed with EoE last year, and after allergy testing and eliminating based on the tests, he was still not feeling better. When the GI finally suggested a full elimination diet, it was pretty overwhelming to get started. I happened upon this book and it has been our most helpful resource during this diet. Some of my favorite things about it:1) The intros at the front and at the beginning of each chapter helps explain the WHY behind different substitutions that need to be made. This helps with making the recipes in the book, but it also helps me know how to adapt other recipe our family loves to something my husband can eat. (And makes the book even more valuable than the numerous recipes included in it!)2) The recipes themselves... We have tried several, and my husband has loved all of them. Going through the stress of food allergies can hard, and there is something emotionally rewarding about being able to say, "I made pancakes/muffins/cookies for my husband today that he can eat without getting sick, and they taste good!"3) The freezer instructions! Every recipe we have used so far has had instructions for how to freeze it at some point during the process! This has helped make our life so much easier. One of the big challenges of having to eat on an elimination diet is the necessity to have every bit of food planned out, and being able to stock the freezer has helped with that SO much!I would HIGHLY recommend this book to anyone with multiple food allergies or doing an elimination diet who is trying to find ways to have more "normal" back in their life!

Super easy recipes and tons of options!
This book is FANTASTIC! Super easy recipes and tons of options for things like milk, and several different options for egg replacements and how to use them. Almost every recipe references an optional substitution (if you'd like one) and the page number for said substitution. No need to fumble through the book wondering where in the world you saw that option for a substitution. The book is so well laid out and informative. It gives you ways to make different flours for things like pastry flour for pie crust, vs bread flour for sandwich bread, vs pancake and baking mix, as well as telling you how to store the mixes and for how long they will be good for. It also has a store bought version for each of these in case you run short on time for buying the ingredients, measuring everything out, and mixing it all up. Recipes for crackers and soft baked pretzels, jams and jellies, desserts, no bake items, dinners, dressings, condiments, and sides. Tons of recipes. Gives you a huge place to start when you have no clue where to do so. I am intolerant to wheat proteins, gluten, eggs, almost all nuts, and every fish or shellfish out there except salmon. This book is full of stuff I CAN eat to go along with my veggies. Well done.

My go-to cookbook for breads and desserts
When I was told to go on a six foods elimination diet, it was pretty overwhelming! It's easy enough to stick to meats and vegetables for meals, but I missed desserts and breads. You can find recipes online that eliminate one or two of the major allergens, but they always seem to have something that's not approved. The Allergy-Free Pantry specializes in baked goods that avoid all six potential allergens, and every recipe I have tried is delicious.A warning! You will have to amass several different kinds of flours, gums, and starches. The author, Colette Martin, advises using a scale rather than measuring cups. At the beginning you have to mix various flours to create a basic flour blend, and then mix the basic flour blend with other dry ingredients to create a pastry flour blend. It takes a fair amount of time to get started, and I now have one whole shelf in my freezer to store the individual flours and the blends.Even people without allergies enjoy the pancakes, brownie bites, and the the chocolate chip cookies.

I am making a lot of the recipes in herr!
I have been floundering arpund with gluten free because I have MS and I have eliminated gluten from my diet. As a result, I now desperately want a sandwich when I never really cared one way ot the other before. I am a huge taco fan and I like enchiladas too. It is not easy to make enchiladas with corn tortillas. I have tried many different ways. There are recioes in this book to help with these dilemmas! I have never thought of making crackers but I'm gonna tomorrow! The recipes for the different flour blends make sense and the author is very good at providing explanations. If you are wanting to address food allergies that you know or think that you have......get this book! Nothing else. Just this book.

YUM!
OMG!! Finally a wonderful easy gluten free recipe for pancakes. I just made these little pillows of wonderfulness and I am amazed. I have tried lots of books/recipes for GF pancakes and they either take a laundry list of special ingredients and then still don't turn out right or they turn out ok after the laundry list but they taste blah....sometimes crunchy blah. Truly as a vegan it is difficult to find GF pancakes that have taste and are easy to make. I made the pancake flour mix as directed in the book on Sunday and Monday just whipped up the pancakes and viola....delish!!! I will be making LOTS of these recipes. Just for the pancakes alone the book was well worth the purchase. I cant wait to try the biscuits, bread, flat bread...(Can you tell I have missed bread?//...a lot!!!) Get the book...you wont regret it if you have celiac disease or are just gluten intolerant. Yes I try to follow a very low fat plant based diet...but every now and then you have to have pancakes.....good pancakes:)

Disapointed
I feel I have wasted my money on this book. She has obviously done her reaserch but she is way over the top for me,there are so many different flours and things to buy. The only reason I bought it was the reviews were good. I'm sorry to say it will have to go and live in the cloud.

Excellent condition, quick service!
This will be a welcome addition as my sister prepares food and snacks for grandchildren who have two different food sensitivities. It is in perfect condition, and arrived on the day it was supposed to.

Bought as a gift
I bought this for a very very food sensitive step-mom. She's very food sensitive and she loved it. She said it was perfect for her. She's a super nice woman so how much of that is her being a generally great person and how much it worked I couldn't say.

Terrific cookbook!! :-)
I thought it was a terrific book, great illustrations. It also showed how to make pantry staples, which is important to me, as I really need to stock up my kitchen with these things. Really grateful for this book!! :-)
