What happens if there is some coaxial cable that has iron wire in it? Does this machine have a magnet to stop this from going into the copper?

Hello, We recommend processing the same wire types at one time. If you are moving to Coaxial cable from like Cat 5 we recommend that you clean the machine out first. When processing coaxial cable, the machine will NOT separate metals from metals, so the iron would be mixed in with the copper. Please also remember that the machine only processes wires from 40awg to 14awg.
