Canon imageFORMULA DR-C230 Office Document Scanner, 9.1" x 10" x 11.5"

I bought this to digitize our family photo collection. I read from reviews that a flatbed is the way to go, because of the improved picture quality. The reality is, I would never have the patience for 1000s of photos in a flatbed. It just wouldn't get done. I'm very pleased with the results of this scanner. It doesn't have a ton of bells and whistles, but does a reasonable job rendering photos. Very simple and fast to use once set up. And it gets through them with speed. Even at the slowest settings, it doesn't take much time. Every once in a while I open it up to clean the scanner glass, because dust collects from the old photos. This takes all of 15 seconds, and is super easy. Highly recommend this scanner if you're looking to just get a high volume of photos uploaded without too much effort. Should go without saying that it works perfectly for documents as well.

This scanner worked perfectly. But when I went to the Canon web site to sign up for the product warranty I discovered it was not eligible. The serial number indicated it was intended for sale in Japan. A canon representative explained this to me when I called to inquire why I web page wouldn't allow me to register it.

I got this scanner to replace a much more expensive scanner that had forced on me. This scanner interfaces better with the program I use (needs TWAIN driver) no lag time between clicking scan and the program opening. I scanned in thousands of older documents that have been stored and were no longer flat. This scanner had no trouble where the other kept getting jammed. Overall, this is a great scanner for what I need it to do. Smooth scanning whether it's one page or 50 pages.

This scanner works great! I needed a scanner to be able to scan multiple tickets, documents and etc doesn’t matter the paper size it will scan it

The best self-feeder I've ever used. No jams, always straight, fast, double-sided scan. TWAIN compliant, works with FileCenter(c) document management software.

This unit was foreign market (UAE) and would not work on US machine. After engaging Canon tech support they indicated that they could not find the serial number in their system.

When the product works it works well. The problem is the scanner and the cord stop working and you have to call tech support when the scanner itself stops working or buy a new cord when the cord is not working. And in order to find out which it is you have to call tech support. This would be a great product if those two things were not happening as often as they do.
