We love Scout at our house!
I originally was given the green leap frog computer as a Christmas gift for my then 3 yr old daughter. (Due to our 1 yr old Shi-tsu chewing the cord running to the television, we have now gotten the pink one. ) She fell in love with the games right away- especially "Scouts House" where she could put Scout to sleep, feed him, water him, make him do tricks for bones. The games are characters the kids know. IE- Dora the Explorer, Thomas the Train, Cars etc... Not only do kids learn or enhance their counting abilities, letter recognition, color recognition, matching skills etc... but they are also learning important basic computer skills. Such as clicking and dragging, QWERTY key placement on the keyboard, using the arrow keys to move around the games. The only thing as a parent I don't like is some of the games seem to be the same thing with just different characters. Repitition is good, but when you put a new game in you look to use different skills and that isn't always the case. I would suggest getting the AC adapter to plug this in if your child is going to use it a lot - we go through a lot of batteries between the console and the keyboard. Overall my daughter loves her computer and plays with it almost every day for about 1/2 hour on her own, longer if I can play with her.

Leapfrog Clickstart My first Computer
I bought this product for my 4 year old daughter and she likes it a lot. I love that it is nicely built, above average for the price and strong enough for little ones to play with it all the time or even dropping it once in a while. My only problem is that the image is not really good especially if you own a flat screen, HD or any kind of the new TV's on the market. We have an old TV so we let her play on that one and the image is good. I think leapfrog should improve the quality of the image or adjust it to work perfectly with the new TV's. It is a great toy, my only dissapointment is the image quality.

the graphics are very poor and the video has a glitch
unless I have one that has an issue with it... the graphics are very poor and the video has a glitch. It's better than Atari games or the old Nintendo game system. But not as good as a playstation 2.

Ehh, it's ok
We bought this for our toddler and it's okay. The options are a bit limited and the images are somewhat grainy and "old" looking. Don't waste your money.

Very Disappointing and Insulting
My wife and I bought the Leapfrog Clickstart and a few cartridges for our daughter based on past experience with other Leapfrog products. Previous experience with DVDs and other items has been great, however the Clickstart is a huge disappointment. First of all, after connecting it to the TV, we tried to enter her name and it refused to accept it. Her name is not unsual at all but for some reason I just would not work. I could enter unintelligible gibberish and it would accept that just fine. Then the mouse proved very difficult to manuever. It is very erratic, like someone with very nervous hands is using it. Next one of the cartridges would not work. After reinserting it several times, I finally got it to work. All the batteries are fresh, by the way.To sum it up, Leapfrog really screwed up with the Clickstart. It could have been a great learning device, but now my daughter won't even use it because of the level of frustration. I doubt that we will ever buy Leapfrog products again. Be forewarned to stay away from the Clickstart and its cartridges.

Educational it is...fun maybe not for a 3 yr old
My daughter just turned 3 yrs of age, so nothing keeps her interest too long except for SpongeBob videos which she plays often on the DVD player. The Leapfrog computer will entertain her for a few minutes, but I think the coordination of the keys on the computer keyboard and the mouse movement she doesn't quite grasp fully which results in her frustration and hence loses her interest. I don't regret buying this item as I'm sure in time she will grow to appreciate it, and I appreciate it's educational value.

Now I'm pleased
This is the second try for this click start toy. I bought one for Christmas 08 for my 4 year old granddaughter and we sent it back as the mouse ate batteries! So I decided to give it one more try. After sending it back I started reading other reviews and lots of people have had the same trouble that we did. Fortunately, the second try is a keeper. My granddaugher loves her click start and we will definitely be keeping this one.
