This trap is pretty heavy. We purchased the 12’x16’. We used this tarp to cover part of our campsite in NH. Our second day it rained hard for about 5-6 hours. This trap did a great job! If properly setup i suspect it could take a pretty good hit from tree branches.I would say it has about 85% water resistance. There were a few little spots water dripped through while I was cooking breakfast. But it didn’t really make a difference to its roll of keep us mostly dry. It did that just fine.The grommets are pretty strong as well. I had the trap suspended using paracord and rock climbing gear with no issues.My only real “warning” would be to make sure you have it suspended securely, as it is reasonably heavy.

We've only have had this tarp along with same brand and type in 3 different sizes for just 2 months. Hubbie got tired of buying cheaper products to cover our boat that just sits in our driveway year after year and the weather damage beats up those cheap tarps, after less than a year. We'll see how these hold up. They appear to be great quality, time will tell and so will I.

Excellent heavy duty canvas- very well made with double stitching and metal grommets
