Robert Ludlum's (TM) The Bourne Imperative (Jason Bourne series Book 10)

Good But Not Ludlum
Maybe it’s just me, but it took me several days to read this book and I usually read a book in a day. I kept getting distracted by minor errors or repeat phrases that were just not the style of writing Ludlum used. I’ve read other books by this author and they seem to have been better written than this one. Nevertheless, it’s a Bourne book so it has all kinds of adventures that are fun to read. However, when a certain method of killing a person is employed numerous times and fails despite being almost a 100% guaranteed method of murder, it becomes unrealistic. Maybe I should have been an editor. 😂

The book is in good condition and worth the price.
It took so long to get it. Otherwise a five star rating. Met all my other expectations.

Eric Lustbader is no Ludlum
This is a terrible example of the Bourne property. Lustbader turns in a poor job overall. The impression I got was that the author was required to do so many of these books and just spit out the minimum necessary to complete the contract. Don't expect much from Bourne himself in this book, mostly it's other characters that are written. When he does appear, Bourne simply doesn't seem like the Bourne we've come to know. Also, Lustbader apparently was in love with one of his character's names... Maceo Encarnacion is mentioned what seems like thousands of times, and every reference to him includes his entire name... I mean, Jason Bourne is referred to as Bourne, but Maceo Encarnacion is used in every instance, sometimes two or more times in a single sentence. I mean, after awhile, it just grates on the reader's nerves. It got so annoying that I would skip past the name as I read it. If your expectations are high, you will be very disappointed in this book. Keep your expectations low, and it will be OK.

the end is near
Having read all the Bourne books, including this one. The story line is growing tired. This book seemed to have less to do with Jason Bourne than the other players in the book. For some unknown reason we must travel down the path of PCism & mention one of the characters sexual orintation. YAWN. I like to read these kinds of books developing an image in my mind. I dont read those kinds of books because I dont need that kind of image in my mind. A good book is like a fine meal, it will stand on its own accord. I have read many serial books over the years, the majority suck you in waiting to see what happens on the next page or waiting for the next book to reach the shelf. After this latest Bourne book I'm not waiting anymore. I will not waste any of my money on this series. Good luck & RIP Robert Lundlum, just don't bump your head while spinning in your grave.

Better Tempo
This book did better than the previous three. The development of the characters were better, and the action was pretty good. I really enjoyed the ending.

This book is entertaining but with a familiar writing style
This book is entertaining reading although van Lustbader's writing style - jumping from scene to scene - is by now familiar. The locations are Scandinavia, the Middle East and Mexico, an interesting mix with Chinese overtones. While the book is not a "cannot put downer" and has no plot surprises van Lustbader manages to combine Israeli Mossad and Mexican narco characters in a story which is sufficiently different from prior Bourne novels to be more than a simple repetition of his prior work. Further while the book has no educational content it is good airplane and before-bedtime reading. Jason Bourne followers will want to add it to their reading list.

Another great book by Robert Ludlum
It allowed me to escape my world and go into a world that I’ll never really get to be a part of but got to enjoy it for a short time thank you sir.

A continuing journey.
Enjoyed the Bourne saga. The villains didn't dis point in their creative depravity. Bourne still walks the fine line between good guy and bad guy and sane and insane.

Fast reading - very fast pace but too many characters
Liked the language which made the surroundings so lucid that you felt part of itThe author has apparently researched well to make the geographies, equipment, even emotions very realistic-this is what draws you to the storyline and keeps you racing through the pages till the very end.

Not a Ludlum book
Another dud, according to my father. Too many characters with difficult names and too many story lines that take too long to weave together. He lost interest half way through.

UP TO DATE
It is an truly Bourne action book. With all its thrills and idiosyncrasies. Ease to read and, different from other suspense books The Bourne Imperative is not predictable.

it drew me in
The pace, the story just sucked me along to the very end. For me that is more than enough. A good read
