It depends on how old you are talking about. According to Wikipedia the 12v cigarette lighter port was patterned in the 1880’s but didn’t become a regular feature in cars until the 1920’s.. If you’re driving a car more than 100 years old you could probably just ask the guy walking in front of your car with the flag for directions or get him to sing to you.
