Good book

Good study manual and fairly easy to follow. We will see how it prepared me for the PE in about a week.

I thought the book was pretty good, but I found a typo yesterday and today.I contacted PPI to see if they would resolve it, so waiting to hear back on that.These are the typos:In question # 47, the problem dealing with the aquifer and cone of depression. The values for R1 and R2 are reversed, from the original equation (from the CERM). The R1 and R2 do not coincide correctly with Y1 and Y2, as they do in the example in the CERMIn question #76, the solution shows Py * (9 ft). The picture clearly shows the brace pinned at a height of 8 ft. I am not the best at structures, but I am really scratching my head as to where the 9ft came from . And I'm fairly certain it's a typo.Hope this helps anyone else

The book is not worth the money or your time going through it. I took the exam this past April and passed. I tried to use the book as a practice test two weeks before the exam; the problems in the book are difficult to understand and filled with errors. I am very disappointed that someone would publish a book with so many errors in it. It's as though the author only had six minutes to solve the problems and didn't care if the answers were correct. I recommend not buying this book and put the money toward a good civil engineering reference book or the ncees practice test or just save your money.

This book had excellent examples to help prepare me for the PE exam in Construction - which I passed the first try. I agree with other reviewers there are some errors but it is still a must have to help you prepare for the exam especially since its the only practice book with solutions that are based on time. Between this,the Construction Depth Practice exams (ASIN 1591264847) and the CERM practice problems (ASIN 1591264545) you will have all the practice problems you need.

I was unimpressed by the book. I took it with me just in case some similar questions were on the test as to the example questions in this book. During the whole exam, this is the only book I didn't waste time opening.

This book has almost all the types of problems that I have seen in the past exam. It is a pretty fair reflection of what the exam is like. I am so glad that PPI published this book in time for the April exam. It goes really nicely with some of the previous references books and this book is the most practical (and light to carry)! The solutions have very logical and easy-to-understand format. I would this one is very compatible with the the book published by NCEES if not better!!
