Celestron 114EQ Powerseeker Telescope

I bought it for myself i am 13 yrs old and wanted to see planets,I found this and found it perfect so I bought it it is sturdy and good focal length and nice focusing once mount and tripod and tube on time delivery nice packaging no breaking of part.first night saw moon and was amazed seemed like we were astronaut and seeing moon from space next night saw Jupiter,Saturn I was .....shoc.....led Jupiter was extremely clear and big its moon and Saturn was unbelievable it comes with everything u need so no more expenses and it is decent enough to see all messier items from dark skies.after a week finally found out whirlpool galaxy woooooowwww we can clearly see the arms.So it's not shaky really I am saying really and its decent so have good time with it and worth buying.C.L.E.A R S.K.I.E.S.

As soon as I opened the package box, I was amazed by the excellent packing of such a fragile product. The overall quality of the telescope tube and the mount was superb. The mount was sturdy and the tripod was decent.The telescope was a little tricky to assemble at first but it got easier when I got familiar with its parts. The optics were top-notch. The eyepieces provided were very great and did not have any distortion. The accessories provided were of good quality. The optical tube was very sturdy. The only drawback was the finder scope. It was not easy to align but I somehow managed it. That said the telescope is very good in every other way.If you are looking for a beginner telescope on a budget look no further!!

You are better off staying away from this product. Its a pain putting it together. The image quality is really poor, you can not view anything and it is not portable at all. The tripod is so wobbly, you are always scared the telescope will fall.

The product is just great this review is for celestron powerseeker 114EQ telescope... The telescope is great... Even though... Iam not good at pinpointing stars... Planets... I managed to look at saturn.... Jupiter.... Literally.... Iwas able to see rings of saturn.... From past 2 to 3 weeks i just looked at moon...... Many times..... And i saw saturn once...(i was lucky bcuz tht day saturn was close to moon) and jupiter also once.... I dont kniw if there was a problem.. But jupiter was not that clear... It was... Clear but not tht much..... I still dont know.... Can we observe deep sky with this telescope or not.... Cuz i dont know how to precisely use. It..... I am beginner and this is my first telescope. I m waiting a big and clear dark night where the sky will be full of stars and i will enjoy it.

It is okay to see planets but most difficult thing is to control it. I bought it from here for 15xxx, but due to tripod, and also my wish to move to 5 or 6se, I am willing to sell it. Even for 10k will be ok for me.

Very complicated to assemble.material is not so good.

Well, this is my first telescope. It can show me things that were beyond my reach, so I like it. On the first evening I only assembled and collimated the scope. Took out for viewing the next night. Using the equatorial mount was a bit tricky at first because I wasn't able to find Polaris due to light pollution in my area. However, on the first night I saw moon craters and mountains, M44 cluster, Orion nebula and Jupiter with its moons.From the experiences of the first day, I re-collimated the scope, perfectly aligned the finder-scope and used the mount properly. Found the pole star this time. Had planned to find Cone nebula, Bode's nebula and other bright objects using their declination but failed. Realized that there is considerable amount of backlash error in both declination and right-ascension axes. People have complained that the tripod is flimsy. Well, it is not steel but does not make the scope shake. The problem is in the mount. To counter it either you need to know exactly where the object is in the sky or use 15-20x magnification. Buy a focal reducer.A good thing about this scope is that you get a finder scope with it, not a red dot finder as with the astromaster series. Slow motion knobs should have been more bendy for shake reduction. All in all it is not a very good telescope but it IS more than okay. My suggestion is- go for it or a used astromaster 130eq for this price because a better mount does not come below 25k.
