PlayStation Classic

This system comes with 20 pre loaded PS1 games that seem to be chosen randomly, you get a few games of every genre, jrpg, racing, fighting, shooters, kids games, ect. The selection is wide and will probably put you out of your comfort zone, I’ve already discovered a few fun games I’ve never played back in the day. When the system was new, the “only 20 games” complaint was very valid, but you can now buy a modded usb stick with 100+ preloaded ps1 games for around 20$, far cheaper than collecting all the disks. If you’re good with computers you can also download whatever games YOU like and out them on a usb drive and they’ll run on your ps classic with the help of a YouTube tutorial. Adding your favorite games or getting a modded game stick is essential and something you should look into if you finish all the preloaded classic games you enjoyed.Came with two controllers that feel high quality and will take you back by simply holding. PS classic was packaged very well, adding to the “quality feel” of this official Sony emulator. You can get knockoff mini systems but they won’t look or feel as nice as this official one.I have never before complimented a manufacturer on the way they package their items, may not mean a lot to most manufacturers but Sony is a Japanese company and like toyota they want to express quality everywhere in the product. The ps classic boxes unfold like origami and neatly fold back together if you want to use the box to store your classic/travel with it. When I was opening my PS classic I couldn’t help but think how much money Sony would save in the long run just taping up all these boxes, but rather than deliver lower quality packaging they have a machine or person take the extra time to fold these boxes neatly so they come apart and go back together very nicely. It’s the little things that remind you you have an official item. Good job Sony, I can definitely understand why some people may be dissatisfied with the base 20 games, but it’s a non issue In the current year when you can buy modded sticks here on Amazon for more ps classic games.

This looks really cool, I had a PS1 on opening day when I was a kid and this is a very very very good replica. The controllers are really nice, no thumbsticks but that can be fixed(read below).It get a lot of hate because the included games suck and a lot aren't even the NTSC version, they're the PAL version along with no tumbsticks on the controllers. If you hack the system you get the most up-to-date emulator(this uses a old one by default), you can load it with the entire PS1 library if you want and it will work with a PS3/PS4 controller in wired mode so you get the thumbsticks. I like this over a raspberry pi because the case does look really nice and it is a nice touch to use the open button to switch discs. I would pick this up, especially for the 29.99 price I bought it for, I like it(hacked) more than the Nintendo minis.UPDATE: Have played this a ton and works great (hacked) but I've moved back to my pi a bit more and I have to say these are my favorite wired controllers. I might buy a second PS1 Classic just for the controllers. I mainly play retro games and PS1 games I just play the RPGs so I don't really need thumbsticks. It is nice to have 4 of the same controller when playing with friends, right now I have a miss-match but if I had 4 of these controllers it would be a lot better. I hope they're still around Black Friday, maybe I can pick up a second for $19.99. Fingers crossed!

I see mixed reviews about this system, but I love it! $60 might be a little steep, but The PlayStation mini was definitely worth the money for me! the console is on the small side but it doesn’t bother me. The controllers are awesome and everything about this system is very nostalgic , yes it only comes with 20 games however if you look on amazon there are game sticks that you can get for this system which will add 100 plus games each !My personal favorites are the “true blue minis”I’ve played all 20 games that’s actually on the system and I ran them all fine with no problems, resident evil ran very smoothly for me and I used to play it on the original system so I would notice a difference. It played the exact same as the Original. Some people are saying the games are slower or glitchy but I’ve played my system for 2 years with over 300+ games and have not had a single problem yet. Played multiple games with my friends and have had a lot of fun! Would definitely recommend this system for anyone who loves ps1 or old school games. Again I highly recommend getting gamesticks for this system so you can play hundreds of games! You can even buy a usb and get your own games if you know how to do so but I just stick to the preloaded usbs. “True blue minis” are dope. Hope this review helped and have fun!
