An impressive book on the topic of nutrition
This book is well organized and presents each individual food in a standard discussion format, which makes the key nutrition information easy to understand for the layman. The references to studies of the health effects are useful and persuasive. The ability of each food to protect against common ailments is given in a clear manner. I imagine other buyers of this book are working through personal health issues, as I am. I am recovering from surgery for coronary arterial disease. A possible future edition addendum could be a cross reference of the very best foods for the support of major health issues, such as cardio-vascular, blood imbalances, cancer, auto-immune deficiency, liver disease, kidney disease, bacterial or viral disease, obesity, diabetes and so forth. There is a cross reference of individual foods to their beneficial components, such as vitamins, minerals, and anti-oxidant effects. The disease preventive effects are clearly listed in the individual food item discussions, but a summary index of those benefits by disease type would make that very useful information a little more accessible. This is an impressive book on the topic of nutrition.

Best book ever!
Such great recipes and so much valuable information that I haven't found anywhere else, and all written by professionals in the health field, not just cookbook authors. I use it daily and thank goodness I have those 'favorite' recipes memorized as the pages were getting super-messy. Guess I need one of those cookbook holders with a plastic shield!

This is a good, basic book without a lot of bells and whistles. However, I would keep in mind that today's foods are different then even a few years ago and would buy organic to avoid the heavy saturation of pesticides that can NOT be washed off soft skin fruits.

This is the only book in this style I own and I don't feel a need to get another. Explanations of each of the most healthy - and typically really easy to find - foods.

Interestant
For all the super foods there ir recent information of studies telling us the benefits of using them.Very well organized. The only thing i would like to see was at least one recipie of each super food.
