Eureka 61111D Hepa Filter

TLDR This is a genuine Eureka HF-2 HEPA filter and the Arm and Hammer in it leaves the house smelling fresh too! Past reviewers may have purchased this when it wasn't sold by Amazon ... maybe Amazon listened to you. Amazon.com now sells it and it's genuine Eureka. The seller may change maybe when Amazon.com sells out. Buying genuine replacement bags and filters are important especially if you own a HEPA vacuum. Below I put links to the other genuine Eureka stuff I bought on Amazon.com. I own a Eureka The Boss SmartVac and it's been performing flawlessly for years. I has a true HEPA filter (High Efficiency Particulate Air) that captures more dust, mold, and other fine particles not caught by the vacuum bag. This is NOT OEM. I just replaced my OEM Arm & Hammer Hepa filter with this one. My OEM filter has a pad on the back of it that has the Arm & Hammer baking soda in it. This one does not have the pad. Additionally, the image displayed and the description *imply* that this is OEM though the description does not SAY so. I ordered two of these filters and they did not come in packaging; they were just enclosed in the shipping envelope. If you have allergies, do NOT waste your money on this. I'm going back to my previous seller next time.

Was originally looking for a USA made replacement filter but guess that's not going to happen on these. I was leery of ordering this one sight unseen but it arrived on time at a much better price than what I could get one locally. It looks identical to the factory original piece except it has a black instead of yellow plastic frame and the pleat count is 9/inch vs. 11/inch on the original. My vacuum is several years old and while the filter still looked clean through the front plastic cover, it was almost completely blocked up holding it up to the light. Vacuum is running much better since replacement. China made in a user friendly easy open plastic package.

There are several third party vendors for this filter. Amazon rotates them through when you visit the product page. I read stories where people were looking for the genuine Eureka filter instead of some cheap copy. But when they ordered, those people got shipped a cheap copy anyway. All I can say is that I got what looked like a genuine Eureka filter when I ordered from GoVacuum. Unless they are counterfeiting the packaging too. Filter fits perfectly an will hopefully capture a lot of dust in the future.

The filter sold by Amazon is the the genuine OEM product. Amazon does a perfect job with the product in terms of shipping and selling the OEM product. The other vendors may have the OEM product. The way you can tell the real version is the filters have 8 vertical separators and 42 pleats across. The generics have 4 and the same number of pleats. The generic and OEM differ in filtering capability. The generic do not last as long and don't filter as well. The ony issue is that the scent pad attached in this filter peels off and ends up blocking the flow. The scent does not work too well considering that it blocks the flow and is not very effective in scenting the air flow. If you need the non scented the same filter is made as the filtrete version sold by Amazon and is sold by Eureka. The filter is exactly the same and is slightly cheaper but a better value considering the pad does not get in the way. Choose the filtrete version as a better option of a genuine eureka product without the problems.

The website pictures Eureka brand 61111 HF2 Hepa filter w/ Arm & Hammer, but that's not what I received. Instead I was sent a black filter loose with no packaging. I have no idea if these filters are as good as the brand name. This ad was definitely false advertising. I should mention that I ordered from B & M Housewares. I ordered from United Vacuum one year ago and was happy with the filter and the packaging.

What is pictured for the product is a Eureka (Made with Arm & Hammer Baking Soda) HF-2 Vacuum Filter. I received a vacuum filter that does fit my Eureka Boss Smart Vac, HOWEVER, has NO identifiable packaging that states it is a Eureka product. The filter does not have the baking soda packet attached to it nor does it have the yellow rim (it's black) that I have purchased from Eureka in the past. While I know products can change slightly from year to year, I feel it's a little fishy to receive a product from a seller that has nothing on it that states it is a Eureka brand product.

I ordered this product from United Vacuums. This is the correct HF-2 filter, but the version that was shipped was the one with the Arm and Hammer baking soda bag on the back. I don't see anything wrong with it; others have written that the baking soda makes a bad odor or a dust cloud. I have not had that experience at all; actually I don't notice anything different at all. And I guess if you really don't want baking soda smell at all, you can just remove the A&H bag from the back of the filter; it is just glued on very lightly and looks very easy to remove without damaging the HEPA filter.
