The picture is upside down. This kind of water level valve, works great, and has they own floater inside, all in a compact building.

Cheap but works good.
From the picture which is upside down, the water level line is about 1/4" above that stainless screw, or 1/4" below if installed on the pool. I install it on my pool and this works good. When on its on full blast, when its off its off. So end up buying 2 fittings 1/2" regular irrigation elbow (FF, FM), which height can be adjusted by turning the elbow. I remove 1 star because the documentation is in chinese and no Locknut provided. The locknut position the unit firmly upright and lockit. Its good I have one from my old valve.

Leaks out the bottom.
This was pointless, water leaks from the bottom instead of going through the outlet. I used it as a secondary inline float control and it caused more problems.

This is the second valve I have purchased
This is the second one I have purchased. The first one broke when the water froze in the water tank. I will buy it again if I need to.

This valve slowly leaks past the stopper so the bucket continues to overflow. Second one.

Only use with very clean water.
Worked for about 4 months. Almost flooded my living room. Edit: This is good if used for the right application. I opened it up and found that it's fairly complicated inside and originally it came with a pre-filter mesh but I ended up not using that which was a mistake. The inside can get a little clogged which can cause the float and the mechanism to not function completely. This also really needs to be used in very clean water in order to prevent this. I was using this in an aquarium and having water come from a mixing barrel which does still accumulate particulates even though the water is generally clean. This float would be better used directly after a water filtration unit in a container that is kept very clean. I just replaced this with a standard flow valve which is far more simple and suits my needs.
