I am a rather large individual, so I ordered the triple XL. It's a good thing that I did, because the vest size runs smaller. The quality of the vest has yet to be determined through the abuse it will suffer this riding season. I purchased this vest for 3 reasons 1) appearance 2) outside reviews 3) conceal carry pockets. The vest itself does seem to be well constructed, the patches (which are removable) are entertaining, the conceal carry pockets do their job extremely well, I carry a Beretta PX4 Storm compact and it hides it quite well. The only 2 deficiencies I have noticed so far are: the front snaps are a bit weak and the side laces leave no room for adjustment. Both of these issues are easy to resolve.Side Note: the Vest comes sealed in its plastic wrapping, my suggestion is to remove the Vest and allow it to air outside or in the garage. After making minor adjustments to my vest, and ensuring that the conceal carry pockets do their job, I hung the Vest in our main closet. My wife arrived home after work and gave me a hug, she stated that I smell a little strange. She then proceeded upstairs to the closet and yelled "something stinks." Yes it was the vest, and thanks to the new buffalo leather, my entire closet took on a whole new smell. So I agreed to hang my vest in the garage with my leathers... I'm sure this pungent smell is only temporary. Up-Date 5/11/2013: One major problem occurred last week; the 1/4 inch eyelets started falling out. I imagine this happened for two reasons, the leather is thin and stretches easily allowing the eyelets that are not stamped/crimped enough. I was forced to purchase 3/8 nickle grommets and install them if I wanted to continue wearing this vest. The cost and time for this was minimal, however, it's something one might consider before purchasing.

After reading the other reviews, I decided it was worth the few bucks for a leather vest. The one thing it had when it arrived was that awful odor from being shipped in a damp container from China. After taking all the rude and annoying little patches off (I just tossed those) I used Lexol on the leather and Febreeze on the large patch and liner. I hung the vest on a chair on the porch a couple days to let it dry and air out. That helped.I got the 3X, since the other reviews mentioned it ran small and that was the case. It fits fine, but I may have a bit adjusted around the bottom, since it is a bit big around the middle. The laces down the sides are hard and dry, though, and I hope they don't break. But a little Lexol should help.The concealed carry pouches inside are very roomy and the little holster with the hook-n-loop strips on the side does a nice job of holding my 9mm in place and it is easy to access. If you carry in one side, the other side makes a nice large inside pocket for keeping a map or other documents. The outside pockets have snap closures and can hold a phone or keys.Considering that most leather vests cost about $99, this was a pretty good deal. I've had things made with buffalo (American Bison) leather, and this vest is not made of that. It is good garment leather and with care should last quite a while.

I emailed the seller shortly after ordering the product when I realized I wasn't given a size option. The seller advised me that I would probably be receiving a "Large." Shipping was prompt and the vest came in great condition. However, the size I received was "3X"! I am still waiting for a response to determine if I can get a replacement in the correct size.The price was right. The tag says MSRP $179. However, I would never pay that much....and didn't. This is probably made out of water buffalo scrap leather from Pakistan, but it looks fine and the patches on it sell separately for more than I paid for the whole vest. I like the concealed carry pocket. It fits my Springfield XD9 just fine. The Buffalo nickel buttons are a nice touch.

I bought one just like it on amazon last year and was too small, i wear a 2X, the price was cheap so I never bothered to send back, wellI saw another one I liked better on amazon this year, but this time I read the reviews, it said they come small, so buy one size bigger. I ordered a 3 X and it didn't fit either. I held the 2 next to each other, no difference between the sizes.well this time I tried to return it and the company wouldn't do it, they offered me a percentage that came to $4.00, now I have 2 brand new vests that dont fit, flea market time I guess

it is very stiff & uncomfortable. I noticed that some leather is missing from the under layer. I would not recommend this to anyone.

I love the vest but put in my 9 millimeter one side as you can imagine makes it heavy on that one side I'll try to figure out a way to balance it
