Rep-Cal Maintenance Formula Box Turtle Food Fruit(2 pck / 12 oz each

My veterinarian recommended this for my box turtle as part of a diet balanced with leafy greens, fruit, vegetables, and invertebrates. My box turtle loves the taste of the pellets, and they smell nice and fruity to me. I get a new jar every 6 months, because my turtle seems to get less enthusiastic about them right around that time. They must get a bit stale after a while. When I give him fresh pellets from a new jar, he’s enthusiastic about them again. These pellets were developed by a reptile nutritionist and a reptile veterinarian, so I have confidence in their nutritional value. I highly recommend them as part of a balanced diet for box turtles.

I use this food in addition to Omnivore Mix, or with added fresh Romaine lettuce & fruit, or mixed with Flower topper and fresh fruit. My tortoise does not get the same food everyday, I alternate foods for her.

We have 2 box turtles that we have had for over 25 years. Turtles make excellent pets as they don't chew table legs, don't tear up the curtains or bark or meow during the night. We found this food about 20 years ago and started feeding it to them. They love it and also love lettuce and tomatoes. This time we bought the 2-pac of 12 oz bottles.

My eastern box turtles seem to enjoy this turtle food, especially when mixed with pureed pumpkin or pureed sweet potato for consistency and extra vit. A. One comment is that one container arrived damaged and it was obvious that it was packed that way since the outer packing was not damaged. This is non-returnable but it still should be refundable. Someone at Amazon made the decision to send it damaged with turtle food spilling out. Happy with the product but not Amazon.

I have been using this food for decades. He likes it and it lasts. I have tried to throw other commercial foods in for him, and he shuns them. Only likes this, and fresh fruit and veggies. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
