Aqualon 243921 Filbert Brush Set, 7/Pkg

This is a great set of brushes for the cost - I was very pleased with my first purchase of this brand! They have a good amount of snap - I also like that the handles are made so you can do a little scraping

This is a great set of watercolor brushes - they are short handled, and the bristles are very springy and hold up well in water. I tend to prefer a stiffer watercolor brush (I tend to be heavy-handed, and softer brushes tend to flop and flatten on me) and the Aqualon line is one of my favorites- they hold a good deal of water/paint, but still hold up to the pressure my hand puts on them as I paint. This is a great set of Filbert/Oval Washes - the smallest is great for small areas and detail work, while the large is super-fluffy and great for coverage and soft washes in large areas. Highly recommended, especially if you like your watercolor brushes to have a little spring in them. (If you need a stiff watercolor brush, check out R&L's Fusion line, which is the next-stiffer on their scale of brushes.)

Good spring action, good water retention, sturdy. I don’t often use an oval brush in watercolor painting, but there are times when they are very useful. I also use the same line of round and flat for watercolor. They arrived promptly (next day) and were well packaged.

The bristles seem to be made from good quality fibers that retain their shape after wetting. Easy to clean. Works well as a wash brush.

They are exactly what I expected

I have been using these brushes for several months now. They make a beautiful stroke single or double or even triple loaded. The handles have a good feel. The brushes clean up easily and retain their shape.
