My girls are in love with this microscope, they are 2 & 5. They love looking at all of the fun little slides and are easy for them to pick up because there are finger holds on either side. The light is a great feature and gives that much more color to what they are looking at.Every time someone comes over my 5 year old runs to get her microscope to show them how cool it is. This is a great toy to get my girls away from their iPads for a while and learning about new things.It is also very lightweight and easily moves from one place to the next. Easy cleanup with only putting the microscope and slides back in the box or a little baggie for the slides to put on a desk or whatnot.This is a great product and we are very happy with our new toy.

My 4 yr. old granddaughter loves this microscope. The service from Kidtastic was outstanding. I purchased the item very early for Christmas. We it was opened the led light would not work. I couldn’t return it due to purchase date, so I contacted Kidtastic about the problem. I received a quick response. They replaced the microscope quickly, it works properly, and I didn’t have to ship the defective one back to them. This is the kind of company I like to do business with.

Bought this "microscope" for my 5 year old granddaughter as an "educational non-electronic toy". Upon seeing the "microscope" on Amazon I liked the idea that she could use both eyes for looking and not one. I also liked the idea that this was a "toy" that my granddaughter would be able to self-adjust the focus.My 5 year old granddaughter taught me...showed me this was not a "toy" but a scientific instrument. After a few minutes of her seeing...excuse me...viewing the prepared slides that came with the microscope and the additional prepared slides we bought she politely wanted to do the viewing on her own.The one problem I found with this microscope was the mechanism used to hold the slides was not up to the job.FOLLOW-UP: We had a sleep-over that night. The very next morning when my granddaughter woke-up, instead of wanting to watch T.V. or play with her electronic games, all she wanted to do was view more slides on her microscope. Tomorrow, when we get back home [1500 miles away], we need to buy a second one for her to use when she visits us next month. OH THE JOYS OF SCIENCE!!!

Toy is simple to use. My girls, ages 3 and 5, had so much fun exploring the various slides. Most of the slides are insects, but a few were dinosaur scenes. That was unexpected, but a huge hit with the kids. They love that they can turn the light on and off and adjust the slides themselves. There are no "blank" slides, but you still can put organic matter under the scope to explore if you wish. Great for little kids. Would buy again.

Love the concept. Some constructive criticism though. 1) The screw driver compartment for batteries was insanely tiny and difficult to open. Why not remove the screw compartment all together and a plastic kids lock? 2) Nearly 50% of slides are dinosaurs. How about more bugs and plants that you would actually find outside?? 3) How about slot under microscope to slide the slide through instead of laying between grooves? 4) How about include an inexpensive slide tray for storage? Instead of loose slides, which is an easy recipe for losing slides.

Sturdy and so fun to play with. The only thing we didn't like was that had more dinosaur slides than bugs! Obviously not a microscopic reality. Should have some parasite, germs even if cartoon like for more realistic feel

Terrible purchase. I saved this as gift for too long and so did not open it before the return time line was up. It is awful! The light doesn't work (it never did), the handle broke of after my daughter used it a few times (and she is very gentle with it) and her all it is just a piece of plastic crap. Do not waste your money. I am so disappointed with this purchase.

I bought this for my 5 year old grandson and he was very excited with the gift. He immediately started looking at the slides that were included and also went outside to collect leaves and bugs.
