It worked, and is a quality kit for the job.
This kit worked well on a V2 Switch. After having modded an OLED Switch recently, I found this to be a much easier process. There's still some micro-soldering involved, but for me it was trivial. Keep in mind that my accompanying photo is shot from under a digital microscope. The work area is hard to even see with the naked eye. And yes, you'll have to flash the board with the latest firmware, but IMO, that's relatively easy to accomplish. Importantly, the entire upgrade procedure was successful! My advice: work slowly. The connectors and plugs you'll be working with are very small and delicate.

Works great but you might get unlucky
I apparently received a used item? The V2 ribbon connector had sloppy solder, scrape marks and a completely torn off pad. Luckily I only needed the v1 cable. Good thing it comes with both. Using the v1 cable that was undamaged everything went smoothly and I got my v1 switch all set up.

Chips without firmware and cause switch to brick
bought 2 chip from this vendor, all didnt have the firmware. The second chip cause my switch to burn and now the motherboard stop working. I do not recommend this

Perfect for “game backups”
Definitely worth the buy, easy to install and the chip is preprogrammed. Just have to add files to the sd card yourself.
