When you can get it started it worked really well and enjoyed it. It's difficult to get started.But now that it's not even 3½ years old it refuses to fully light. You can get the initial pilot light going but the heating mechanism will not take anymore and it's officially out of warranty

In the current environment, we are all socializing outdoors now, and with the colder weather, we need to have some warmth. This little heater is the perfect add-on to add that extra round-up of warmth that is needed.Do not expect it to be the sole source of heat, but it does fill in quite nicely.The only problem I had was getting it to light and stay lit. The instructions are not that clear about how to get it to work. Push the knob in all the way to kick on the initial lighting, then back the pull out just a bit, so you can turn the knob to add the gas to adjust the amount of heat.It is lightweight.Know you will have to buy a fuel container or a hose to connect it to a tank of fuel like you would use on a Gas Grill. I choose the gas grill tank and bought the hose to connect it.There is a larger version of this unit, but I did not see it available for sale on the Amazon page when I bought it. For the price, it is a decent product.

Decent 360 degree heat output. Best if only a few feet away and placed at the correct level for heating body. Easily uses both 20 lb. and 1 lb. propane canisters. Excellent for warming your workshop or on a table, where you’re eating!It was a welcome part of our holiday gettogethers! Very light & portable....it does NOT get the base or table surface hot, which is great for outside dining!

This heater worked great the first time I fired it up in the backyard for a test. It was warm enough and I was excited to use it to keep warm while at the kids sports practice. The first real use and after about 15 minutes it would make a loud popping noise and go out. It was enough to make me jump. I left it off and decided it was probably out of propane.A few weeks later I tried it again with a new tank and it had the same problem. It would run for 15 minutes or so and then pop loudly and shut off. I checked the tank and it had plenty of propane left, although the tank was a bit cold. It seems like the cold tank put out a bit less pressure and that caused the heater to shut down. Not a good design and it basically means you have to change the tank every 15 minutes to keep the pressure up.So I grew tired of it and put it away for the winter. I just pulled it out to try it again and now it will not light properly. The pilot light works, but as soon as you try to turn it on the pilot goes out and it will not light the heater. I tried holding it for 2 minutes to make sure the pilot heated up the element inside and it still doesn't work. So now I need to rip it apart to put a new heat sensor in it in order to use it. And best case is that I fix it and it pops every 15 minutes and shuts down until I change the tank.So basically, I'm going to throw it in the garbage. For me, this was a $100 lesson in reading the reviews and believing it when people say this item sucks. Do not give this heater a chance. It is garbage.

I bought two of these to use in a 20 X 20 outdoor tent for Christmas Eve so my family could be together. They raised the overall temperature in the tent quite satisfactorily, we were comfortable with these going. However I found that I was switching out the tanks about every 45 minutes to an hour instead of the 2 to 2 1/2 hours. They would go out before all of the gas was used up in the tank. I have tank after tank with gas still left unused!This might not be the fault of manufacturing as much as it is the nature of how the propane tanks work. I used 2 different national brands of propane and they both functioned the same way... I had quite a bit unused fuel left over in the tanks.The tanks would freeze! Once the tanks warmed up, I could put them back into the heaters and get more use out of the "empty" tank... up to 15 minutes. But it is a hassle to change out the tanks so frequently.I did not notice much difference between the "high" setting and the "low" setting on the heater. I just kept it at the low setting.You will get warmed up. They put out good heat. I like them. I might buy one or two more. But be aware that you will go through fuel faster than advertised if you live in a cooler climate (I'm in Washington state) than maybe if you lived in California or Florida.

This heater works great. The only issue I have is the two small propane tanks you have to supply don't last long (approx. 2.5 hrs on high setting). I purchased a separate hose kit to be able to utilize a 20lb tank. The hose marketed for the heater is about $35 and around 3-4 ft long. The book doesn't recommend using the heater indoors with the hose/tank combination, but I have with no issue. Just make sure to soap the fittings after installing the hose to check for leaks.

Works well and puts out a good bit of heat, but has a few issues. One is that it seems to burn on high regardless of control knob, and because of this, it burns through a 1lb tank in just over a hour. Second, because of the heat shield, it’s hard to heat water and I’m guessing even more difficult to heat anything to use as a cooker.

We got this to use while camping last fall. On cold mornings it was nice to have heat at the picnic table while we were making coffee and eating breakfast. We searched around and this was the best value. It is sturdy and well built.
