Keeps my cat from scratching my bed,but doesn't stay "stuck" to bottom

This furniture protector was very easy to apply and sticks well. It really helps keep my cats away from scratching the couch. Simple, clear, and does exactly what it’s supposed to do.

At first I absolutely loved these protectors and even suggested them to my sister who also has a cat. Within about a month they tore up pretty bad and I went to replace them. The protector took off some of my leather chair's color coating, leaving it looking worn down. It was very disappointing, as the list says it does work on leather. Overall the cat scratch protector works okay. It is very thin and easy to use, but doesn't hold up too well and the cat can pierce through relatively easy if they have sharper claws.

My 2-year-old cat scratches virtually everything in this house that she can sink her little toe-sabers into, and she will NOT let me trim her claws. I got these to see if they would help. This is a very good product, and with a couple of tweaks, it could be excellent. What you get for the price is a good value, with 8 big sheets and 9 half width ones, plus the pins to keep them in place if you need them. The biggest issue – one that would be easy to fix in the manufacturing process – is how difficult it is to remove the backing from the clear sheet. After struggling for a while, I attached a piece of cellophane tape to both sides right at a corner, and those ‘handles’ worked like a charm in helping me separate the two. The other issue is the highly glossy shine, and though yes, they are completely transparent, they are definitely an obvious and not-particularly-attractive addition to whatever surface you put them on. A matte finish would help in this regard. I am not eager to have that on my nice furniture, but I did put it on a couple of my cat’s favorite spots. The adhesive worked very well, clinging to the fabric easily. I used the pins to secure the sheets just in case, but the more I think about it and live with it, I worry about my cats pulling them out and swallowing them. The package doesn’t say you can do this, but I also attached pieces to a couple of carpeted stairs that have been particularly popular areas. In every case, my kitty has completely avoided the stuff. My hope is that I can train her away from those spots, remove the sheets, and put them on other trouble areas. Bottom line: good value, need to use tape to separate backing, they do what is claimed, cats do not want to touch them

These scratch stoppers were extremely hard to remove from the backing! I struggled through two and gave up because I was so frustrated. I failed with my finger nails and scissors. I actually had to tear the corner to expose the clear covering in order to peel it back. There are quite a few provided which is good because I already ruined a few. Once on they do indeed provide protection from feline claw assaults. My cat is no longer interested in scratching the corner of the couch that I did manage to cover. He hasn't even tried. It is totally transparent but you can definitely tell it's there because it is so shiny. Overall I love the idea but sure do wish they were easier to peel off of the backing. If they could somehow make it less shiny so that it blends in more that would be nice too.
