The best one!!!
Don't be surprised by plastic handle slips and too much play in the jaw. They didn't looked trustworthy to me. I even had to replace the first pair, second wasn't much an improvement. But man, they really work! Others I've tried do not compete with them. I was surprised more experience Vampliers locking pliers made by same company failed on the first try (slipped and got a worn teeth). On the other hand, Engeneers have no signs of wear after dozens of jobs. The jaw looks like brand-new and really locks in without slippage. I had no problem removing deck screws with snapped hands or securing rusted car bushing.

Beautiful Craftsmanship
These are wonderful pliers. The grips and overall size are perfect. The jaws are aligned perfectly, and have an enormous grip strength. They don’t have the typical lever to release the jaws, but they do have a hex bolt/pin on the bottom that you can use to tighten or loosen the pin way more easily than most pliers like this. All you need is your 4mm hex key or 4mm screwdriver and you’re set.

Quality is a bit disappointing
The Pliers work well for their main stated task ie. Screw removal and Vise grip. Also mentioned on the packing is the function of steel wire cutting (1.6 mm). This cutting function is achieved by a cutting edge against a flat anvil. However, when the Jaw tips are fully engaged and locked, there is a noticeable gap between the cutting edges, which merely notches a wire and does not cut it. Since Engineer is a Japanese make and, I thought, would ensure a high Quality Control for a product bearing their name, I ignored the 1 and 2 star reviews on amazon and ordered it despite high cost.Well I'm disappointed. I am hoping I can get a fully functional pair of pliers because I do need one of this type.17 June '22. Amazon has, very kindly, sent me a replacement. This too, is exactly the same. I guess the entire batch was of 🍋s OR the design is flawed. Which ever it is, I'm disappointed with the brand.Amazon though, continues to shine. Thanks

overall, very nice
these do the job as advertised. this would be my 2nd pair of Engineer screw removal pliers and they have proven extremely useful. they are small - 185mm is just over 7 inches, they apparently do not come in the 10 inch size, like other standard vise-grips. also, the lack of the quick-release lever is not a personal preference of mine. small grievances in the grand scheme of things, and otherwise they are worth it.

No release spoon
No release spoon to help in the release of the pliers for those very strong grips. The release of these seems very odd without the spoon and not sure how long they will last . I'll update if tends to fail or lasts.

Worked as promised
Finally had a chance to use these. Had two Phillips head screws on my garden tractor that were stuck in place. Screwdriver started rounding off the head. Remembered I had these vampliers and put them to use. They worked great. Got screws right out. I did notice the grooves that aid removal of round screws where either not machined very deep or had too much chrome plating as they were not overly sharp. Otherwise I would have gave this purchase a 5

Japanese Engineering Quality
I bought these to replace my ageing and rather worn American ViseGrip pliers. These are very well made and have more gripping options. The lack of a release lever has not been a problem. Impressive.

Professional quality tool; more expensive but worth it
Engineer is Japanese brand whose tools are of very high quality and designed for the professional user; a small number of specialist and semi-specialised items were purchased since the first introduction some years ago. Unlike other Oriental-made brands, the grade of steel used is high and very suitable for the task. Lesser Oriental brands use a cruder and softer steel that usually includes aluminium and other metals derived from vehicle scrap. This "ENGINEER pz-64 Locking Pliers, Black/Green" is not just another locking pliers but has its own unique features, firstly in the jaws that include vertical grooves to lock onto a screw head, nut, bolt etc should it have been previously damaged in some way and not removable by other means. It is then capable of removing it cleanly and easily. There are also the usual horizontal grooves, too, for every other situation. The tool is quite short, only 14 cm (approx 5.5 inches), and ideal for smaller tasks and use in tight spaces.Engineer have also modified the design from the usual. Not only have soft-grip handles been added but its overall design locks very differently to other 'Mole' wrenches; when most have a separate locking and release bar built into the section without the adjuster screw, this design needs only to have its handles prised gently apart. Otherwise, functionality is identical.Quality comes at a price and Engineer-brand tools are more expensive than other high-end equivalents. Compared with the bargain brands that may not survive the first half-dozen tasks facing them (many of those previously purchased failed after just one or two), these are most likely to survive a working lifetime.

A top quality and unforgettable tool
It happened that I needed a locking plier in general and a screw removal kit. To my surprise, I discovered this product. It's compact, durable and made with good quality materials. The instructions are very simple to follow.I was able to remove a worn and rusted screw in my oven element cover. Previously, I spent a couple of days trying to remove it and had ran out of options. It was the perfect size to use in such a narrow space.I would've given it 5 stars if it had a release mechanism. Regardless, I'm proud to own this and highly recommend it.

Not great.
Not great. These look and feel like cheapo locking pliers. They are made in Taiwan, rather than Japan, and not made to Engineer's usual high standards. The top plastic/rubber handle cover slides around on mine, and the cut-out in the tips of the jaws does very little to add extra grip on screw heads. I tried these alongside some standard locking pliers from Milwaukee and found the Milwaukee pliers easier to use. This was for removing stripped out panhead allen screws. Engineer's pliers made in Japan are very nicely made and functional. I use a small pair very often at work stripping computers.

Small and well made
A small specialist mole grips. Made for getting difficult "rounded" screws and bolts out. The advantage of this style of tool is you can grip the head of a screw and just turn it until it comes out, with no having to adjust the position of pliers on every turn. I find this feature very easy to use myself, with my bad wrist joints. Not for using on the larger types of bolts etc. but a very handy tool to have for smaller stuff like you find on motorcycle engines etc., which usually have very soft screws on them.I highly recommend this tool for "mashed" screws.
