Good Buy
This holster is very nice for the price. Your weapon locks securely in the holster, but it allows for rapid unholstering. It is durable and I trust it. I open carry on my motorcycle and I’ve been up to 85+ with my gun securely on my hip and haven’t had any problems.Like everyone said, it’s super tight at first. I went on the FOBUS website, just to make sure that I was getting the correct fitting holster. Once I received the holster, I immediately tried it out. My gun was stuck for about 6 minutes until I was able to pull it out. I tried the hairdryer method to loosen the grip a little but it didn’t work. I found the solution on youtube. Fobus produced a video about breaking in your holster. I followed the advice on the video, purchased a can of Silicone Spray (like WD40) and sprayed some where the trigger catch is in the holster. After that, the holster worked PERFECTLY. I only gave it four stars because I had to go buy the spray.

Fobus C9 holster
I just received my Fobus holster for my Hi-Point C9 and I wanted to give my first impressions of it. I read other reviews saying the gun doesn't fit well into the holster without putting a bunch of armor all on the inside to lube it up. Mine fits fine inside and the retention is kept around the trigger guard.I am wearing it now and I must say its not a concealed carry holster. If you can conceal carry with this you either wear much looser fitting clothing than I do, or you have fat rolls to hide the gun under. I'm 6'1 and 180 lbs. I wear fitted clothing. I've been carrying my pistol all day in a simple medium sized mens t-shirt and a pair of khaki shorts with a tan nylon military issue belt. I use a black leather inside the waistband holster with a metal clip made by a local guy that I bought at a gun show here. I have no problems concealing this pistol normally in the six o'clock position even with a tighter fitting t-shirt. This Fobus holster fits well against my body and the curve is nice for wearing it on my hip in the 3 o'clock position. If I had a jacket like my peacoat on it would be hidden.I like the way this holster keeps the gun tight against the belt and against my body. It does a much better job than the Blackhawk! nylon holster with retention strap that I have for open carry. Personally I would say this is a great holster for open carry but not for concealed carry. I used to open carry a lot until I got my concealed carry permit. It was a hassle to unload the weapon and secure it in the truck each time I got in the vehicle. Now that I have my permit I can open carry and get in a vehicle with the weapon loaded and still on my person, but due to people being ignorant about the open carry law here in Ohio (including some police officers who have harassed other open carry member on the forum I read) I prefer to carry concealed so that no one is aware and that way if the SHTF I can have the element of surprise on my side.I will probably use this holster for hiking outdoors, and at the range. I can draw the weapon one handed but it tends to pull the holster almost out of my belt unless I use my left hand to hold the holster, or slide my pointer finger down and press against the outside of the holster around the slide, or use my thumb to push down at the top of the holster where it goes over my pants while drawing the weapon. I'll have to practice it for quick draw drills. It feels very secure in that the weapon will not fall out if I had to run with it. These holsters would make decent duty holsters except for the fact they aren't attached to the belt.

Love it and Hate it.
I am giving this holster 3 stars because the paddle design is excellent, as is the retention system, in theory. If I could just return this holster and get something like it from another manufacturer, I would. But I can't, so I made due. When I read all the reviews about people getting their guns stuck I thought, Na, how bad can it be? Well, the first time i put the gun in, it went in easy but would not come back out no matter how hard I tried. Engineers would be hard pressed to purposely develop such an efficient system to grip and hold a gun like this holster does. I had to laugh. It's like a Chinese finger puzzle. Then I had to figure a way to get it back out. Having thought about this in the days I waited for it to arrive, I had a plan in place, just in case. I took a hair dryer and heated up the holster (gun unloaded). That made it slide off with ease. So, based on suggestions I read here, I started sanding away at the inside of the holster, trying to rub down areas that I thought were making the most contact with the gun. I also used wood screws as round files to shave off the grooves. This took days and made little difference. Still got pretty stuck. Yes, with every withdraw the holster loosened up a bit to the point that I could withdraw it with extreme force, but I was still concerned about carrying this defensively knowing that it would only come out under particular circumstances, not to mention ruining the finish of the gun.Fobus actually has a video showing the intended method of removing the weapon from the holster. It requires a quick, forceful and deliberate jerk from the holster. Well, that may be just fine for IDF soldiers wearing battle gear but your walmart jeans and belt are going to give when you try to pull the gun and this absorbs the force needed to draw the gun. I was able to draw it with each fresh first try but it tired out my arm so much that I often could not repeat the draw right away. That's just crap! What to do? Going back to the hair dryer idea I realized I needed to stretch out and reshape the holster. I took a shovel handle which was only slightly tight in the holster and draped a washcloth over it before jamming it all the way through the holster and heating it up with the hair dryer. Then I let it cool, took out the handle and inserted from the opposite end and repeated the heating process. Let it cool.Perfect! Now it was almost too loose but far better. I can withdraw it easily and it's still tight enough not to fall out when shaken upside down or when running. I think if I were to heat it up again, with the gun inside, the memory in the plastic would grip it back a bit tighter but I think a good July day might do that anyhow.I am certain that I did not need to sand or file anything and if I had just tried the heat method first it would have worked. So, try that before scuffing up the holster.I love this holster because it has a low profile for concealment, is tough as nails and the paddle distributes much of the excessive weight of the C9 to your thigh. I just wear a loose shirt over it. No, its not invisible but it looks no different than my smartphone case under my shirt. I'm fine with it. (Yes I CC the C9)I hate this holster because, like the HiPoint C9 itself, it requires too much modification out of the box. But I guess that is all too appropriate for the C9.Fobus needs to check the tolerances of this item on the model C9. Someone screwed up with this, either the tech who measured it or the draftsman who mocked it up.

Now it's a perfect fit. I also applied some 303 Aerospace protectant ...
Too tight, but I took a hair blower/drier to the trigger guard section and once warm and soft, made the indent smaller so it doesn't hang up on the trigger guard quite as much. Now it's a perfect fit.I also applied some 303 Aerospace protectant to the inside and that makes it slippery without being greasy. In tests, my wife is unable to take the pistol from the holster while I'm wearing it, but I can easily pull it out. This will be great in a struggle and someone wants to try and take this gun away from me. They can't without taking the whole holster and even then, they won't be able to get the gun out. It easily comes out when on my body and pulling from my vantage point, but any other method to extract is very difficult.
