Two defective ones in a row, won't try again
The latch relief to lock the adapter on the body is cut in the wrong position and won't catch, so the lens can rotate and fall off when focusing or setting aperture. I sent back the first one and got a replacement, and the second one is defective too. Disappointing as I have several other adapters from this brand that work, and the m39/M adapter with 35/135 frame lines is indexed properly and locks fine. I'm ordering a different brand since all the copies Amazon has of this one are off the same production run and also defective.

You get what you pay for, though value is good
The adapter is pretty much as pictured. Construction is machined and polished aluminum alloy. While not flimsy, it is not as substantial as more expensive stainless steel or plated brass units. Straight out the box most of the machined edges were sharp. The first thing I did was to dress the edges with emery paper to avoid cuts. The fit seems accurate to the M-mount, though the first several times mounted onto the camera (Voigtlander Bessa R3M) the adapter did not not fully engage the retention latch leaving the lens free to rotate off. This self corrected (not usually a good thing) and since I found no evidence of shards or obvious damage to adapter or camera, I decided that ignorance is bliss. I contacted another owner and confirmed that they had the same experience. Aside from the light build and sharp edges, my only real complaint would be that the threads are cut such that the focus index on the lens is 30+ degrees from top center depending on lens. Were it not for the low price, I would have rated it no better than two, but at this price point ($12.98 USD), the value is there.

Disappointing fit
I'm not sure if I got a dud but the lens does not stay locked in while mounted and can easily be twisted off the body locking mechanism. The mount is also odd as the lens doesn't seem to be in the right place once it is mounted to the camera. Using a different adaptor from a different company and looking at photos online it seems as though the infinity lock is more to the side and not dead centre like this adaptor sets the lens. One good thing is the correct frame lines show up and don't seem to move when I wiggle the lens. Another adaptor I tried does this with the frame lines.

Lens fell off my camera, but...
Funny story here, kind of. I was using this adapter with a Canon 50mm f1.8, it never really clicked into place, but I like the lens and it always felt pretty firmly on the body. I was shooting a band at a local bar, somebody bumped me, and the lens fell off the camera, onto concrete, adapter first and somehow managed to bend the adapter just enough that it now fits perfectly snuggly and clicks into place nicely. I can't get the adapter off the lens, but I only use it on my M3 anyway, so it is what it is. I wouldn't buy another of these. I'm including the photo of the bent adapter on the lens.

Seller twice sent random adapters, not what I ordered
The seller twice sent random adapters. The boxes had the correct description stating what adapter was inside, but the seller had added their own sticker changing that to what I had ordered! Like somehow now the adapters would magically work. What a weird waste of time.Bought the correct adapters elsewhere.FYI Fotodiox adapters are great. If the seller sends you the ones you ordered.

works as intended
Just picked this up to attach my Leica 50mm Summitar f2 to my Leica M9 and M5, fits and works well! 50mm framelines do come up when attaching. Will probably pick up another just in case I lose it!

Can not reach infinity focus. Leica M6 and Leica M3
Big issue with this item. Tried this out on a Leica M6 and Leica M3. It does not work properly. You can not reach infinity focus when useing this adapter. Maybe I was sent a bad copy? I have tried this with a number of lenses and the result is the same. No infinity focus. Now I went out and got a real adapter and tried it. Guess what? It worked 100%. Infinity focus is 100%. So now I know that this Fotodiox is one a bad copy or they are just selling crap that does not even meet standards.

Works great.
Works great for attaching an LTM Canon 50mm lens to a Leica M2 bayonet mount. Focus is exact as tested. As other users have pointed out, it does have sharp edges and feels like cheap aluminum. This is not an issue for me as it will never come off the lens again and I rarely take the lens off the camera. I do wonder about corrosion having it attached to both brass and steel, though. Time will tell.

Thread fails to centre LTM lens
It's perfectly well engineered but the lens does not line up with 12 o clock when fully seated which means the lens hood has to be fitted in the wrong position.

Well made works fine
good positive fit to Leica M and M39 lens

Cumple bien, buen accesorio.

Fotodiox Lens Mount Adapter M39/M-Bayonett

Works, but poorly machined with sharp edges.
Poorly machined with sharp edges. Because I intended this cheap adapter to adapt M39/LTM lenses to the Techart Pro, I largely ignored the warnings from other reviews about compatibility with Leica M-mount cameras. It works for my needs, but, unscrewing the adapter from lenses is tricky. The adapter can cut into your fingers and palm.
