I love this stuff. This is the second bottle. I’ve actually bought great value. Great taste. I love the thickness of it.

So nice to have kecap manis back in my flavor arsenal. I never had an issue getting it in NY or DC but it's proven weirdly hard to find in the Philadelphia suburbs. If you're new to it, it's just what it says- dark, sweet, thick soy sauce with a hint of smokiness. Great addition to barbecue sauces and marinades. Not to mention Indonesian food! I used to live in an area with lots of Indonesians and came to appreciate the cuisine. Look up some recipes and give it a try. And get a bottle of kecap manis before you start.

It's sweet soy very nice

You know when you make Pad Thai or get a take-out and it's missing 'something' and you just can't figure out what that missing ingredient it? It doesn't take but a small amount, but This is what takes care of that "something missing" taste.

This is in response to the review Mrs.JC posted. You stated your grandmother was Dutch/Indonesian and that's how you came to know this product. I have been using this for almost 40 years. My best friend from childhood and still my best friend, was Dutch(from her mom) and Indonesian(from her father) she is the same as your grandma which I thought was quite a coincidence. Especially because it was from the many pool party bbq's I attended at their house, that I too was introduced to this amazing sauce, and learned to make amazing pork and chicken satay and I have used their recipes all these years when we are celebrating something and decide to bbq. Just thought it was afm amazing coincidence about the Dutch Indonesian heritage...
