Televue 2x Barlow 1.25 inch (1-1/4 in.)

Got this to replace the celestron omni 2x Barlow that came with my first telescope (a Celestron 102mm Refractor). This barlow has a noticeably sharper image, i'm not sure if it's because of focusing or just my imagination, but the televue barlow is actually slightly more magnified then the celestron barlow. Construction quality is very nice. Overall very happy with this purchase and will be looking to get more Televue products in the future. The one issue I had with this barlow was the locking mechanism for the eyepiece. Instead of just a simple screw to hold the eyepiece in place, this barlow has a screw connected to a metal band inside the eyepiece holder. When you tighten the screw it tightens the band. This can be a bit tricky in the dark, and I had to stop and reseat/adjust the band a few times after switching eye pieces. Fortunately i've gotten used to using the locking mechanism and this problem has gone away, but it can be tricky at first!

Televue is a traditionally brand in optics, it is recognized as a great optic maker. This Barlow has excellent quality. Compared with my previous Barlow (Celestron) is much better. A good Barlow like this optimize all your optic, in the other hand a bad one broke all your system. In this way is useful to spend the money in an intelligent manner. Buy this Barlow if you want to have a good optic complement.

So upset with this order-It doesnt even work - at all!My guess is they change the lens and sell the brand with random lens since its detachable!!Try to ask for a refund and I couldntOh well lesson learned !

This works great. I have a 40mm plossl by tele bur and the combination is incredible. One of the best attachments I’ve ever bought.

If you're reading this, you've no doubt heard that TeleVue makes some stunning optics. Aside from the fact that the barlow is a *tad* bit long (make sure you don't hit your diagonal with it!), it's incredibly clear and everything you'd expect from a barlow in this price range. The only reason I have it 4 stars is a) the length and b) the high point scientific 2.5x barlow is quite a bit cheaper, and aside from the magnification, I can't notice any visible optical difference. This is no doubt an excellent piece, but there may be better *value* out there for those that are more concerned about stretching a dollar.

Very wise decision on purchasing this. I have a Celestron NexStar 6SE and after replacing the cheap one that came with my scope, I could visually see the difference. I was amazed on how much better my images are. Worth every penny

If you use high quality eyepieces and a high quality Barlow like a Tele Vue, it effectively doubles the bang for your buck...but not so much if you use cheap eyepieces.

This is a very good barlow but it is not any better than the one I already had that I paid less than half for.
