Astonishing
I couldn't play this on VLC with the blu ray files. Just wouldn't run. But with Cyberlink, the picture quality is astonishingly sharp. I've never seen anything this sharp before. Full HDR, 4K ultra, no excuses. Problem is that Cyberlink is $99, so now I have to consider whether its worth the money for this level of quality. I'm kinda wondering if maybe, just maybe, this might be true.

Not English
Make sure you read the description before buying any Anime. Don’t be like me and buy without reading it. I never would have guessed it wouldn’t have a option for English. So I learned a $32 lesson

It was cute, until it became a long running shameless advertisement mixed with sex.
It was cute ... a girl and a bear doing things. Then it got blatantly sexual and suggestive, then it became a long form ad for different Japanese products (literally showing prices and long monologues about a companies history and how cheap they are and how good their products are). The sexual thing is not that shocking for anime, although it feels REALLY out of place here. The advertisements kind of made me mad. There are entire episodes built around the girl being possessed by a "shopping kami" and literally spouting advertisements with pricing flashing across the screen. It's just terrible.

just okay
this anime was just okay, it didn't really go anywhere with the storyline! Except that the Machi had an extremely serious inferiority complex, which her friends didn't really do anything to help her overcome it, in fact they encouraged it!

A nice little anime [SPOILERS]
The title of this anime, Kuma Miko (or Kumamiko) literally means Bear Priestess. It's about a girl called Machi (the priestess of the title) who lives with a bear called Natsu in a shrine on the outskirts of a remote Japanese village. Apart from having a TV, Machi and Natsu lead a fairly primitive existence, and Machi fantasises about moving to the city and leading a sophisticated modern life (though she doesn't have much idea about what that might involve). This is basically a nice little slice-of-life show, not the greatest but enjoyable. We meet a variety of friendly local characters, and follow Machi through her daily life as shrine priestess, and on her occasional attempts to get to grips with unfamiliar things like clothing shops and electric rice cookers. At the end of the series Machi finally gets to go to the big city, and finds her dream not as awesome as she had hoped. Luckily there is a big orange bear waiting for her at home. There was some negative reaction to this series, which seems to be the result of people only watching the first two episodes. Those episodes give the impression that Natsu is being cruel to Machi, preventing her from going to the big city and setting tests which she is bound to fail. But this is a misunderstanding of the show. In fact, as the series goes on, we see that Machi is a timid, naive girl who is terrified by the unfamiliar, and that Natsu genuinely has her best interests at heart.(There is also an ecchi moment in the first episode, but that's the only instance in this series.)Recommended if you want a slice-of-life show with a light look at rural Japan.

Cute anime
Cute anime. The anime was cute and funny. I wish they would have dubbed it, but still a good anime.
