I used this product to fill in some bare spots on my lawn. South Carolina has some harsh climate conditions (mostly the intense heat from the sun) , and so after trying quick-fix seed and it burned up after a season, decided to give this Centipede mixture a try. It states that normal germination is from 10-28 days. Guess what, I noticed that some seeds germinated after six days, probably due to above 70 degrees, even at night, and profuse watering. I don't believe the soil type is important but the keeping wet of the seeds is. Simply put it worked for me, even though you don't get that much coverage. As I write this review some of the last seeds are still coming up, and it's looking greener everyday with proper watering.

With bermuda scotts I saw little grasses coming up but after a month they were only a little over an inch high and I left them without water and they mostly all died in few days of summer heat.This centipede never sprouted and was watered heavily, at least hour every night wasn't enough. Waste of time and money amd only support maybe 80 square feet, turned out to be zero...I'm just mad because of all the water and rain we got in FL and a month of waiting

Had removed all roots/grass/weeds from area, raked clean and spread this mixture. Followed instructions, kept moist, kept kids off, etc. But first rainfall seemed to wash the seeds away. Only germination was at grass line where did not need it. Guess should have "planted" instead of just broadcasting as recommended. Will try again using trenches and see if can retain onsite this time.

It takes weeks to grow. Water it every day.

It works

I was so excited to find this product from Scott's. Being from the South, I know how hard it is to grow Centipede grass successfully. And how few products are available to help you. I had a small area and several spots where my centipede just wasn't filling in and I didn't want to have to buy rolls of sod to fill it so I was really hopeful when I found this on Amazon. I have done everything that I was supposed to do to get this seed to grow. I turned the dirt over and removed rocks, I covered the areas with new compost/dirt, and I sprayed the areas with water before spreading the seed. I have made sure to keep the seed moist and free of debris/weeds. The seed did not spread easily from the container because the opening is too small causing it to spread unevenly. After about 2 months or so very little grass sprouted. It wasn't enough to make much of a difference. I tried this product 3 times with the same results. Very disappointed.

With other grass seeds, I've planted and watered and waited and nothing happened. With Scotts EZ Seed Patch, I spread, watered, and in a couple of weeks the bare spots were completely covered with beautiful grass.

This product did not work and I followed directions to a “T”. I have NO grass growing in the bare spots .I raked up the soil , spread the seeds, watered as suggested and - Nothing . I am most disappointed . Can I get a refund ?
