Women's Moab 2 Mid Waterproof Hiking Boot

I just got back into hiking in my early 60’s. I wasn’t sure what type of boot or shoe to buy. After reading the reviews I bought these. A lot of reviews say there is no break in time but the boots come up the ankle and did rub a bit on the back side. It really only took acouple hikes to not bother me. Some reviews also said to buy the wide size. I didn’t and almost regretted it when I put on socks. I worried what would happen if I hiked in cold weather and needed 2 socks(they would be too tight). I have hiked in 20 degree weather with 1 pair of socks and my feet were warm, dry and cozy, so I’m glad I didn’t buy the wide. The boots are snug enough so I don’t slip in them. The boots are high enough to stabilize your ankle when you step on rocks or roots and start to twist your ankle. Exactly the boots I needed. Very comfy and light, perfect for my kind of hiking!

I have been desperate to find a decent comfortable pair of hiking boots or sneakers. I could not find any after repeated tries - my main thing I was looking for was something supportive (as I have on/off plantar fascitis) and I wanted lots of space in the front for my toes (had issue with previous sneakers with pressure on my toenails, a few turned black & blue from some sneakers I had - and could not deal with that). So normally in sneakers I take a 8 medium. I ordered these up not only 1/2 size but ordered the wide (so I ordered the 8.5 Wide) OMG I LOVE LOVE LOVE THESE! NO breaking in at all. Literally from the moment I put them on I have had total comfort - no issues, sizing is great - room for my toes especially if you get hot, your feet will expand. I cannot say enough good things about these. I also had tried (before ordering these) the Keen version - sent them right back - they were not comfy and they did not have wide options. As mentioned I normally do not take wide - but in a hiking boot - it makes a huge difference - I love these so much! They have great traction, are super easy to tie, tons of padding around the top. I hope they NEVER ever discontinue this model - this is one of the best footwear I have owned ever....

Occasionally I work events where I put in an 80-hour week and am mostly walking and standing on concrete. Having plantar fasciitis due to very high arches, I'm usually in excruciating pain by the second or third day and miserable for at least a week afterwards. I've tried MANY different brands of shoes/boots (even very expensive ones) and several types of inserts. Some were better than others but I was still always in a lot of pain. I also usually wear kinesiology tape during events, because it's the only thing other than ice that really brings me any relief. I ordered a pair of these Merrells and received them the day before I left for an event. I wore them around my house for about 30 minutes before I threw them in my suitcase, then wore them for the entire week and had ZERO pain even on the very last day! I didn't even tape my feet, and I had no desire to wear any of the other shoes I brought. I'm in absolute awe at the difference. And the fact that I had no rubs or blisters wearing them pretty much straight out of the box was really impressive. The grey/periwinkle color I purchased is really nice and neutral enough to go with most colors. Some shoes make my size 10 feet look huge, but I felt like these were actually really cute for hiking boots. I walked through mud and dirt in these and they kept my feet warm and dry and easily wiped clean. The grip is excellent, and they did well on wet pavement and over slushy ice. I ordered my usual size and they fit perfectly.

I haven’t hiked in these yet, but I formerly used the Moab SHOE by Merrell, so I know they produce e a quality product that will last you years. My feet have NEVER hurt after a hike. When my trusty shoes wore out, I knew I wanted to order the boot version next for the ankle support and let me tell you: my ankles are so cozy in these boots! I mainly wanted to elaborate on the sizing. I am a TRUE 7.5, but I typically wear an 8 in my street shoes and work flats & heels. If there are whole sizes only, I’m definitely an 8. I’m never a 7, and never an 8.5. HOWEVER, in my running shoes (Hoka) and hiking shoes, I am an 8.5. You want to give your foot some room to swell, and move around a bit (aka, not be jammed in there). Go up 1 size from your TRUE foot size, and you’ll be golden. Or go up a half size from what you typically wear. I typically wear an 8, and half size up from that is perfect for me. My shoes were an 8.5 and so are these and the fit is perfect. Not squished, and not swimming in them. Can’t wait to use these this weekend!

I’m an avid hiker and runner who up until now relied on their running sneakers (with an extra pair of socks or two) for even rigorous or wet hikes. I have a high arch and a bone spur on the back of both my heels that make finding shoes very difficult: lack of support leaves my hips and knees aching and the wrong back to the shoe leaves me bloody, so I don’t like to waste time and money if I find something that works ok. This winter, though, I’m planning a hike in icy mountain conditions plus need a new pair of boots for regular snow days in NYC, so decided it was time to bite the bullet. I did a lot of research and picked these to try first and I am so glad I found these! Thank you to all the reviewers here for your help! These are much lighter in weight then I thought they would be. I am somewhere between a 7.5 and 8 in shoes and went with the 8. They fit perfectly: not too snug but not at all loose. It’s hard to describe- they secure around your ankle and then they’re so light, they sort of just gently cradle around your foot. They don’t feel “cushy” like my sneakers but my feet feel supported and are completely protected from feeling the impact of hitting the ground. I took them for an inaugural 6mile hike in the small mountain reservation near my parents house in NJ, without any breaking in. The arch support is great, no aches and pains in my joints or feet. Miraculously no blisters, either. The conditions here are currently unseasonably warm and very humid, with heavy ground cover of wet leaves and pools of mud. The traction on the wet leaves/rocky mountain terrain, even while being pulled by a German Shepherd, was fantastic. I didn’t slip at all and my feet stayed dry. Plus I discovered how nice it is to have some extra ankle support. These boots did run a little hot, which is why I gave four stars. I tend to run hot myself. The good news is that even though they felt a little hot, my feet didn’t sweat (I was sweating otherwise in the warm humidity). These will be great boots for when the chill comes back and through the winter and early spring for both nature hiking and urban hiking through rain/snow.

I needed a pair of hiking boots, but a weekend trip to Joshua Tree Nat'l Park lit the fire under my bunz to actually buy some. After tons of comparative research, I kept coming back to these. I might have been a little biased toward Merrell because a long time ago, I had a pair of Merrell slippers that were comfortable beyond anything I'd ever worn on my feet before, but the reviews on these boots really sold me. Here are some key points: SIZING: I wear a 6.5M in street shoes, though I tend to buy 7's in booties or dress boots. Because a lot of reviews suggested sizing up, I was torn between 7 and 7.5; I also have wide feet and was debating the M or W. I ended up getting the 7M and was really pleasantly surprised at how much room my feet had, both in the toes and in the width. I tried these on [and wore them] with the Darn Tough women's light crew socks, and even though I probably could have been fine with a 6.5 in these boots, I kept the 7's because I knew my feet would probably swell, and when I wear these in colder climates I'll likely want thicker [or multiple pairs of] socks. So, the 7M was a good choice. COMFORT: I tried these on and didn't want to take them off. There's some REALLY nice cushioning in the heels, and even after two full days of various nature walks [I can't bring myself to call them hikes haha], my feet never felt tired or in pain. The height of the boot is exactly what you see in the photo: it's not going to cover your ankle entirely, but the cut provides really good support of the ankle without any part of the boot digging into the ankle or your Achilles. QUALITY: The soles are nice and thick, and in general these just feel well-built. I can't vouch for waterproof-ness yet as I've only worn them out in the desert, but these boots were perfect for me and I'd highly recommend them. :)

I bought these Merrell Moab hiking boots for a trip to the Grand Canyon. Hiked trails, but not all the way to the bottom. They were very comfortable - no hot spots or blisters, arch support was perfect for me, good support throughout. Did not walk through any wet areas, so I can't vouch for waterproofing. Daily temperature range was low 40s in the mornings to mid 70s in the afternoons. My feet did not get hot or cold in the boots. They performed fine on dirt and loose gravel. The boots run a little short. I tried on my normal shoe size in a store and my toes were almost touching the tip. Couldn't find a half size up, so I bought a full size up, which means the boots are a little long and wide. I have a narrow heel, average width across the ball of foot, average arch, but low volume foot. I had to wear thick hiking socks (Darn Tough Coolmax) and tighten laces as much boot would allow in order to keep my foot from sliding around. Once lacing was set though, the boots were so comfortable, I didn't give them a second thought the rest of the day. I hope these last a long time! Definitely recommend these hiking boots.

I really love these hiking shoes. I used them for a mountain hike and they feel very comfortable. The quality is definitely superior and while I only used them for a few hours, the hike was rough and they still looked great after the hike. I have other shoes from Merrell and I feel the best in these shoes. I definitely recommend

These definitely are my my favourite bootes. They are perfect for the winter and kept my feet warm. Excellent for people with wide feet like me. Lots of room for my orthotics. Lots of stability. They do have a stiff sole which is good if you have problems with your feet like I do. They wrap around your feet and there is no sliding in the boot . Perfect fit . Definitely recommend

I went for a six km hike yesterday.....NO sore feet, NO sore legs, and feet were completely dry. I have never had such a comfortable pair of boots before...I ordered a half size up....and they are a perfect fit. Will recommend these boots to anyone.

Boots fit well, are comfortable and warm. Bought them late 2020 and did not wear them much until fall 2021. First time out in rain was a few weeks ago. Feet were wet in a matter of seconds. Very disappointed as information on on Amazon claims the boots are waterproof. Would give 5 stars if they were.
