Tile Pro with Replaceable Battery - 1 pack

Having owned the previous Tile Sport I was happy to place an order for the pro with a replaceable battery to be safe in the knowledge that the device itself would be a longterm, more environmentally friendly investment.However, within 24 hours of owning the Tile Pro I uncovered what can only be described as the most annoying quirk ever.For some reason the button on the pro is larger and easier to press. This is not good when the device is attached to your keys, either in your pocket or if your juggling taking shopping out the car whilst holding your keys. What follows is the musical find my phone feature of the app, where as when the button is pressed the phone loudly plays a tune until you can acknowledge the activation on the phone itself. This is not helpful or funny when it happens several times a day.Although I did very occasionally have this issue with the Tile Sport; it was not anywhere near as annoyingly regular, and would activate maybe once a month. The Pro however seems to like to make itself heard at least once a day, and on one occasion it activated the phone four times before I found the useful feature within the app to disable the find phone feature (probably a feature resulting from feedback from annoyed customers).Honestly, the Tile is a robust, solid and reliable product. I do recommend this and I am largely happy with it, however I would also recommend deactivating the find phone from Tile feature if you want to keep your sanity and not wake the house every 5 minutes when grabbing your keys!

Handy bit of kit. Like the fact it finds my phone or tablet when I leave them somewhere. I'm one of those people who lose everything regularly so I've been meaning to buy one for years. I opted for this item now the battery can be replaced. Thought it an option too expensive before this update, but seeing as they finally managed this plus I purchased 4 for roughly 20 quid each it seemed a bargain. One for me and one each for my two children that carry my key losing genetic defect. Leaving me a spare one which I'm debating sticking in a tool box or placing in my luggage on my next holiday..My only gripe (so far 😉) is that you need to leave the app on all the time on any device/s you want to use to find it & vice versa. It uses a considerable amount of battery life and I tend to close all my apps in one go and forget to leave the "Tile" app running which always the moment I can't find my phone. Most frustrating..However on the whole it's a lifesaver. Almost literally as it saves me getting a telling off from the Mrs for asking her to help find my keys or to ring my phone when it's stuffed down the sofa.. 😁Later edit: Does have its moments when it completely fails to find anything including the tile itself. Bit of a p*sser..

So this is an amazing concept, using BLE to interface to a low power device for tracking them is an excellent idea, and works well in theory. However they don't work in practice.The tile app will go many hours between connections to the tile as it doesn't stay connected all the time. i've seen this time as high as 8 hours and the tile hasn't left the range of my phone. the other draw back is connection to the tile takes ages, you can be waiting as high as 45 seconds for the app to connect to the tile. this bring me onto the community find, it doesn't work, if was to loose my tile unless it was in an area where lot's of tile user's where idling say in a resturant then the community find would work however in places with faster foot traffic the Tile just wouldn't have the time to connect to another user's phone.Finally Tile offers a 'premium' feature, this premium is tracking of locations of the tile over 30 days, and some other features however all of these features (for the most part) could run locally on the app without the need for an internet connection. and then the actual thing they could charge premium for like community find is free, this is great however as said above it doesn't work properly and why should a premium feature be something that doesn't cost the company any extra.Summary:In a summary these make great personal trackers however the use ends there, so great if you loose your keys at home less great if your trying to find them in public.
