Primary Concepts, AA2011 Letter Formation Sand Tray

I could see from other reviews that the quality of this item is not consistent, but I took a chance because it was the only one of its kind I could find for the price. Luckily, we got a good one. When made correctly, this is a great item. The amount of sand is perfect to be able to replicate letters, and it's a little sparkly! My daughter loved it. Very little of the sand escapes and the lid fits very well. This has not only been a great way for her to practice her letters, but it has really built her confidence to be able to make well-formed letters with her finger (holding a pencil ro write is a skill in itself).I hope the company saw the reviews and improved the product, because the one we received is great, and it is a fantastic way to practice writing.

This is a very nice product. The sand is a good quality. Just enough to cover the bottom of the tray. But not too much, that you can't see the bottom of the tray to make the outline of the letter being traced. The lid fits nicely. I am very happy to use this with my toddler.

I like the concept of this but the execution could be better. The lid just sets on top, it doesn't seal. The sand doesn't cover the bottom and has glitter in it, which is not in the description. When a little of the sand was spilled on the floor, I vacuumed it as I would anything else, but it made black Mark's on my clear vacuum head. Save your money or opt for a better version.

This prosecutor is really great for children that are struggling with handwriting - and those struggling with letter sounds. Or naming the letter. Kinesthetic movement and tactile approach is so beneficial and this product keeps children who struggle engaged.

Bought this to help my daughter with letter writing as her small hand is still struggling with controlling her pencil. She loves it and i love it even more! It is perfect for little fingers to trace and fun as well. I would probably buy some new sand down the line but for now the original sand is working fine.

This is an attractive box, but the lid didn’t lay flat on the box AT ALL so sand would definitely fall out. There isn’t enough sand that comes with it - if they added a couple extra tablespoons it would be the perfect amount. I’m really disappointed in the lid being so crooked. Not sure what I can do with this now and I’m sad that I wasted money.

I had high expectations and this would be great but the box is not well made and has a gap which means that sand is all over the table! Each time a letter is made and it’s shimmied to undo the letter sand comes out of the sides!!
