I've always wanted a bowie for my collection. I saw this one, and couldn't resist. This is not a cheap bowie with junk steel. Great quality steel, nice finish, comfortable handle, and sharp as heck right out of the box. Comes with a nice leather sheath as well

This is an excellent utility/fighting knife. I chose this knife because it is made in the USA and I prefer a 9-9.5 inch blade. Ten inch and longer are a little unwieldy for me. They feel more like a machete than a knife. I do have a couple of those.The Bear & Son is a quality field Bowie and was razor sharp out of the box. The hand guard had a very slight bit of play. That bothers some people and I am one of those. I never considered returning it. I am told it is common in this style knife whatever the brand. I taped it off and used a plastic tooth pick to get some Gorilla Glue in there and it is now solid as a rock. Later, to be sure, I cut off a small piece of Mighty Putty and forced it into the spaces around the hand guard. I am a lot happier with this knife than a Pakistan bowie.Glad to support. USA company.I would buy it again.

Great looking knife. Arrived in perfect condition.Sheath is nice quality. Came pretty sharp. I gave it a once over on my diamond polishing wheels and it is razor sharp now. Shaves hair like a straight razor. Blade is fairly easy to sharpen as well.

I think this knife is great the sheath is not so much ive had it for a couple of months and its still tight on the knife the brass gaurd is loose but its to be expected i dont mind it because it does not effect the blades Performance other than that the looks real cool tho i can say that for sure

This knife is a very close match to the Bowie knives produced by the Colorado Knife Company back in the 70’s. The weight and balance are very similar. My only criticism would be that the handle is a little too square for my liking. I will probably round it off a bit to be more like my vintage Colorado Bowie.

Great craftsmanship a good solid knife. Feels good in your hand. Very sharp. Well worth the money.

Just recieved my knife, no imperfections on knife or sheath, was very pleased, the cocobolo handle is very nice, solid cocobolo and not laminated, there is nothing I can say negative except th snap button should be stamped bear and son's, I bought this for my Bowie collection for sandvik steel blade, its tougher than most stainless steels in most Bowie knives, so I was willing to pay a little more for this knife, I also like the D ring sheath which I'm impressed with quality of the craftsmanship, also impressed with the quality of craftsmanship in the knife as well, I like my old timer 184stuh, my case XX Bowie, my buck custom shop Bowie and thie bear and son's Bowie the best, I have at least 10 other bowies at least, this bear and son's, while plain and straightforward is just nice to look at, up close and at a distance, and it came sharp, the sandvik steel,is pretty tough it's still easy to sharpen, it's as tough a D2 but D2 holds the edge better but is harder to sharpen, and sandvik is a little more corrosion resistant. This a real nice Bowie.

The knife is great. Made in USA and with high quality materials and fit and finish.There was a small issue with the knife sheath that allowed the tip of the blade to penetrate the sheath. There was a possibility of a cut or scratch from that. I contacted Bear and Sons sent pictures of problem. They sent out a new sheath that works perfectly. Great service and appears to have been shipped right away. I would definitely recommend Bear and Sons knives. I would buy from thm again. I already have my eye on another model knife that I like.
