Love it it is perfect
The media could not be loaded. Love it ! I had a bamboo water fountain with pump for about 5 years and it got really old and the bamboo started to peel off at the sprout , I did not want to spend another $50 to get the entire kit and good thing I found this alone without the pump ! This one seems to have a coating over the bamboo which imo is great, since my bowl fountain sits outside under my patio, this seems to be more weather prove, I don’t mind it’s a little shinier it still looks great ! I also don’t mind the spouts moves around depending how you place the tub that connects to the pump. Because once you set it up it stays put , I have a round bowl I can always just move the bowl to fit the direction !I am so happy with this purchase, not sure how long this one will last but if it would last 3-4 years like my last one I think it would be so worth the price ! Love that foam lily pad they gifted with the purchase !

Four years UPDATE 🌟 Buy your own pump!
The media could not be loaded. FOUR YEAR UPDATE: I love this thing. I got it in 2020 -- when everyone was making sourdough bread, I made a fountain. This bamboo wonder is as good as the day I got it. Today I put in a new pump after four years, the only thing to fail thus far. Here's how I set this up: giant fishbowl from warehouse deals CHEAP, $20 fountain, $9 pump. Bam. You can stop there, or grab a cheap plastic planter to hold up a plant saucer. Throw some nice rocks in there and you can control the sound of the fountain by moving them around. I only use distilled water with some conditioner because I'm not cleaning that behemoth out every week. You can go full pro and make a backdrop curtain, attach a light above, and put everything on a smart plug. Simple yet one of my favorite projects, I always get compliments. In my experience, here's where the negative reviews fall short. No, it does not come with a pump. It says that all over the place. I mean, come on. Read. This allows you to get the pump you need for your application. Yes, the spout is not permanently attached -- because you get to decide how you want the spout angled. I liked it pointing straight out so I used two zip ties to hold it in place. It wasn't difficult. And they do go heavy with the sealant...but I have seen no indication of mildew, etc. after 4.5 years of near-daily use. Very few things are perfect out of the box and I had no problem with making a few tweaks to get this how I wanted it.If you look around, this is inexpensive for the quality. Read the description and buy the kind of pump you need for what you're trying to accomplish. I'm very happy with how my fountain turned out, very zen and relaxing. You can make your perfect fountain too, just buy your own pump and make it happen!ORIGINAL REVIEW: I've been looking at bamboo fountains off and on for years, especially the more popular ones you can find here on Amazon. The problem with those is that they are natural/unsealed and do not come with a UL-listed pump. I contacted them and they could "upgrade" to a UL-listed pump for like $8 -- making those fountains close to $50, and I would still have to get some spar urethane and seal it myself to prevent mildew and cracking. For me, that was more involved and priced a little high for one part of a larger fountain project.I ran across this and was intrigued. There weren't very many reviews, but the pictures were helpful. I took a chance on spending $20 for this and I am glad I did. There was some gunk on it, maybe uncured shellac or whatever this thing is thoroughly sealed with, but it came off easily. On the underside was a tiny spot that was missing shellac, but it sits on the bowl so I'm not concerned. Did it stink when I opened it? Yes, but that's how you know it's working lol! It did take several days to fully off-gas, but the smell did go away. Now, the spout itself is NOT permanently attached as I'd read in some of the reviews. I was actually glad this was the case. I got a UL-listed 60gph pump here for like $9 and by the time I got that in place and snaked the tubing to it, the spout had spun around a few times. Glad I didn't have to fight it during all this, I got it right where I wanted then used zip ties to hold it in place (the natural/white ties are barely noticeable). This ended up being absolutely perfect for my little "fount of self-isolation" setup.Of all the random parts I used to create my years-in-the-making fountain, this little bamboo guy and the inexpensive pump were by far the easiest to deal with -- and what held me back from putting this together for so long! I recommend it highly, especially if you're on the fence between this and the more expensive ones. Find a UL-listed pump with the 8mm/one-third inch nozzle, let this off-gas for a few days, and hold the spout in place with some zip ties once you get it exactly where you want it. BAM! You just saved a good $20.

Waterproof version is much better!
I have tried similar bamboo fountains, and inevitably the water starts to run under the lip of the spout, along the supports and drain the water all over the surface it is sitting on. They all split, and they all develop black mold and algae that is hard to clean out of the cracks and pores of the bamboo. Coating this with resin, or whatever they use to seal it solves all of these problems. Granted the glossy look is not as attractive as the nature look, but it is so much easier to clean, and I have lots of spare pumps from the natural ones that fell apart.I have two issues though: 1. The spout is not attached to the cross bars, so it tends to want to turn when being installed. It takes some trial and error each time I clean it, to get the tubing adjusted to the pump so it stays in place. This may be deliberate, as I have found with models that are glued to the support often start to leak at that juncture.2. It is very lightweight. I use it as a fountain for my cats, and they could easily knock it off the edge of the bowl if they drink out of the spout. I solved this by putting a couple of pretty rocks on each side of the spout to stabilize it.Overall, while I expect this one to last awhile, I would order another one when the time comes. Easy to clean and nicer to look at than most cat fountains, which can be pretty pricey.

This is an awesome little fountain!
The media could not be loaded. I just ordered another one. I haven't found the perfect container for it yet so I set it up in my dog's water bowl (I'll wash the bowl really good after this) to see how it did. It did wonderful! The sound is perfect, like babbling brook perfect:)Just so you know, the tubing is wrapped really close to the bubble wrap. I cut mine in two but it still was long enough. Depending on the container I end up with, bc I want to use rocks etc, I'll probably trim it some more. I also noticed the setting for the tiny pump was set on low and it didn't work at all till I moved the little slider over to full and then it was perfect:) This is a really good price for one of these compared to the others I saw.The tubing was quite bent but I think if you would put it in a very warm water bath it would be very pliable and straighten.

works great still wish it was priced better.
I am picky about the sound of flowing water and this one is very soft and relaxing. I didn't see a way to adjust the water flow pressure but it's perfect so that didn't bother me. I like that the nozzle moves so you can turn it straight or slightly to the side. I like that the bamboo is coated. It feels like it will hold up longer. I had a solar pump that plugged right in with a little elbow grease...very easy. The size worked too because if your bowl is big it still sits nicely on the edge. The pink floating lotus flower that they included was an unexpected surprise and brightens up the spot. I'm glad they make stuff like this but still wish it costed less so I'm taking off 2 stars for that.
