John Wooden is considered the best coach in history. During his time at UCLA his teams had extraordinary results, winning national championships multiple times and coaching many athletes to play at then next level. But more than a coach, he was a teacher. His teachings have been noted many times. In this book, written shortly after his 100th birthday by his son you get a look into the kind of man he was. You will learn many of his ideas that one can use to live a good life. The book can be read in less than two hours. I'm ordering books for my grandchildren and keeping this one for myself to remind me of the wonderful ideas coach shared to live a good life.

Gives an overview of his life and has lots of great pictures. I should have read the description closer to know it is a short picture filled book. But it is nicely written and I would recommend adding it to your collection. I have been reading all the different books about John Wooden.My Top 3 Are:1. Wooden On Leadership2. They Call Me Coach3. I purchased The Wisdom of Wooden through Amazon. The price was great and the service was excellent as is expected of and full filled by Amazon. I had read the book as the Library and have to have a copy. John Wooden is a great Coach, mentor and a fine role model as a Christian man working with great humility and faith.

An amazing summary of Coach Wooden's life, from his humble Indiana beginnings through his 100 years on this earth. Vivid imagery, coupled with his personal accomplishments and the lessons he learned along the way. This was a great read! Perfect for anyone wanting a quick look into Coach Wooden's teachings, philosophy, and belief system.

This book is really amazing. He's one of the game's best basketball coaches and it's really good to see his life in the glimpse of this book. There are many quotes to record and remember as others have said. It was really cool to see how his faith impacted him. If you're a college basketball fan and enjoy seeing a part of the history and the man behind it, I totally recommend it!

A fantastic pictorial history of the life and career of the great John Wooden. Growing up in LA as a basketball player during the Wooden Era was one of the wonderful highlights of my childhood, and this book brings back many wonderful memories. It sits on the coffee table in my living room as a reminder of the man and the memories. Anyone who loves basketball or remembers John Wooden will love this book.

This one can be easily avoided. There is hardly anything that is already not mentioned in other books by Wooden. This will classify more as a coffee table book. If you are interested in photographs extra. If you want to learn the details of Wooden leadership, read his other books.Also, I received an old copy, which looked to me like bought in a sale by the vendor and shipped to me. I wanted to give this as a gift, but after looking at the condition of the book, I decided not to do so.
