Great quality and value. Love the dual speed settings.
It’s a little awkward to pick up and sit back down, and there’s no hanging loop at the base which would be nice-but this is a great heat tool for the craft room. It’s very sturdy and is perfect for embossing powder with the high-speed setting, and low is good for quick-drying watercolors. Tip: Let it heat up 30 seconds before bringing it to your paper to heat embossing powder, and it will not scorch your powder or paper if you keep it moving. It stands upright on the desk and has a long cord, and just takes a bit of getting used to with it being pistol-style, instead of straight. It’s actually nice because you can hold it by the base or like a pencil. I do wish Wagner would add a protective shield around the metal tip but it’s not a deal-breaker for me. I paid $34.99 for mine and it’s a very competitive price. Very happy with this purchase.

Worked great until the 2yr warranty ran out.
Great little heat gun that I use for heat shrink boat fittings. This one lasted two years and three months of intermittent use. Probably died within the warranty but I haven’t used it in the past six months. Of course when I grabbed it for a quick repair it didn’t work. Checked inside for obvious damage or loose wires but all looked good. Ordered a new one and it’s fine. Still worth it even if you have to replace it every couple of years.

Why did I not buy this years ago?
This makes heat shrink work so easy. No more messing around with matches and torches. Even shrink with no burnt spots. No half shrunk tube because you were afraid to burn it. I am sure that if you go bananas with this you could mess something up. But I am not super skilled and this tool makes me look like an expert.

Excellent heat gun for the electronics workbench.
Purchased for application of heat shrink tubing, re-flow of hot glue, and preheating segments of low-quality circuit board when de-soldering to avoid damage to the already lousy board. Excellent brand, I've had a Wagner heat gun holstered next to every fume hood I've ever worked in throughout my career in chemistry. This miniature heat gun is a bit more versatile, with the ability to grip from more than one location and the wire stand for both "hands-free" use and cooling after the fact. High output on setting 'II', and a much more mild heat stream on setting 'I'.Included accessories left a bit to be desired, mainly because the last thing needed for such a small heat stream is to make it more diffuse; in fact, an accessory to more focus the stream of hot air would have been a better item. The indirect heating accessory seemed like an alright idea, but I honestly have no idea for intended use. However, the branded silicone mat was worth the extra cost on its own, if not for utility, than simply for the fact that I like the Wagner brand. With any category of item, no matter how obscure, having a brand with a name you can trust is always a plus. If you're in need of a small heat gun for a workspace intended for small or 'lighter' work, this would be an excellent choice.

Highly recommended. I grabbed this as the price was well ...
Highly recommended. I grabbed this as the price was well below MSRP plus it was on my heart's gotta have wish list. I found out about this tool through Jennifer McGuire, a biggy in the papercrafting world. She puts out a yearly "Favorite things of.....(whatever year) on YouTube. Low and behold, she had this embossing tool which she refers to as the "granddaddy of all embossers". I leaped to search for this tool on Amazon and there it was. She wasn't kidding. It heats up very quickly to a hot temperature which is desirable for embossing. Melts the powder more quickly than any tool I ever had. And I have been a rubberstamper for over 30 years and a papercrafter for over 10 years. So, I am speaking from experience with other models including Marvy which I USED to think was the best ever.TIP: This thing gets really hot very quickly. So, make sure to save guard against any burns on ur skin or surfaces. Also do not over kill the heating of the powder as you might do with other embossing tools. This bad boy is so quick. As far as sealing plastic bags like some people might want to use this tool for, I honestly cannot say as I have never done this. So you would have to see how much watts (?) u would need to do trick. In ending, I hope I have been helpful as Jennifer McGuire was for me. Let me also say that although it might me more expensive than other heat tools, trust me I say that it is worth the additional cost. The end.

TWO Purchases & TWO FAILS!!!
The media could not be loaded. UPDATE: I have now purchased 2 of these heat guns and BOTH of them stopped working after just a handful of uses! It heated up my embossing powder annd then started smoking and gave out! Everyone says this is the best gun, but I’m not a beginner crafter and know how to use and care for my tools—so why is this not working?! I am not covering the vents; it is plugged in; I do not use it nonstop; and I do not allow it to get dusty. I am so frustrated that I’ve spent my money on the same issue TWICE! I really like this gun when it works, but for the price it should work more than maybe ten times tops. Absolutely disappointed in this brand name tool and will go back to my cheap tool that still works after 5 years!Pros: Fits well in my hand. Heats quickly & evenly. Nice stand for hands-free option. Two temps.Cons: Quit working after a handful of uses. Will not turn on. Tried multiple plugs, restarts, different temps, etc. Too expensive to give out on me so quickly.Overall: Hoping this one is a lemon. I like it enough to try purchasing it again, but if this happens twice, I will know it isn’t a fluke and my review will drop to 0. :(
