S'well Men's Fits 9 and 17 Ounce Bottles Sport Cap, Stainless Steel, 9oz/17oz

Lots of previous reviews say this lid leaks. It does NOT leak if closed properly. The lid needs to be tilted ALL THE WAY to the back to drink out of it well. It needs to be tilted the opposite way ALL THE WAY to the front to be closed properly. If the tab is horizontal & even and you can see a sliver of blue it is not closed properly and it will leak. It has to be tilted. Please see the attached pictures.I ordered a 3rd party silicone strap for a carry handle since S'well is out of stock. It's easy to carry since it's flexible & no noise like from other carabiner handles I looked at. Thick, sturdy & inexpensive. I was hesitant to purchase this lid because of the reviews where people state it leaks. I'd like to clarify a few things because I don't like it when items get a bad review due to user error. There are two cap sizes, one for the 9 & 17 oz bottle and one for the 25 oz bottle. Order the correct size. This is not marketed towards the Swell Sip bottles shaped like a triangle and I have not tried it on any of them.You can open the top of the cap by pushing down with your finger however; in order to get it to seal properly when you close it, you must push the flip cap down so that NO blue is showing - zero blue gasket showing. Otherwise, it will leak. This fits both my 9 and 17oz Swell bottles perfectly. It does take a bit to get used to drinking out of it as sometimes your nose can hit the opposite end of the lid. I definitely recommend.

This design was almost perfect! I love how it has a press open lid and how there is no straw attached. However, it did not fit my metal water bottle opening which is 1.25”. Just not snug enough so it leaked. My search continues.

Really pleased with this. Good balance of watertight seal with ease of opening and closing.

This cap perfectly fits the 17oz S'well brand bottle, idk about the 9oz. When you open and close it, make sure it's completely sealed shut. This is a cap you have to press down firmly to make sure it's closed all the way. Nothing crazy or taxing, but i can tell you that a casual flip close has led to me becoming Boo Boo the Fool when I turn it anyway but perfectly vertical and spill water everywhere. Just make sure it's closed when you close it and you'll be fine. No leaks, easy use for adults (kids might need to press hard or get help), and saves the hassle of having to unscrew your cap every time you want a drink.

S'well has changed their sport cap and they are totally defective. I purchased a sport cap in Nov. 2023 with a new water bottle. See the cap on the left in the pic. It still works fine. I purchased another one Oct. 2024 along with a new water bottle. After a couple weeks, it only opened part way, allowing almost no water to flow. I returned for a replacement, but the new one looks exactly the same. It took a bit longer, but also failed for the same reason. See the cap on the right in the pic. It's either a new design or a new mfr. The blue area looks totally different and the black part above the blue is way bigger. I emailed S'well with the problem re the defective sport caps that Amazon has in stock. I sent them the picture showing the difference and my proof of purchase. They told me to return to Amazon again because they had none in stock. I totally think a new one from Amazon would be the same if I return & replace again. Don't waste your money. If you want a sport cap, pick a different brand. Too bad as I really like the bottle, but their customer service is horrible. I replied they should offer to replace it when they get new ones in stock. If I get any satisfactory follow up from them, I will edit this review. Zero stars for now.

My original cap broke and I saw this one so I was like why not.Had it for about a year and honestly should've returned it when I had the chance. I find that the sports cap really limits the amount of water that can flow out. Most of the time I end up unscrewing the cap entirely.I will say though that flipping the cap open is much easier than unscrewing the whole cap. But I do find difficulty pushing the correct side sometimes. And at which point I completely touched everywhere near the opening where I would drink from - so much for being sanitary.Regarding leakage, I'm always concerned that I left the cap open. Even if the gaskets all work fine, if I left the cap open or if I didn't close it properly, it would be an issue. So I find myself paranoid and constantly checking before and after I put the bottle in my bag. It also feels not safe to just toss the bottle in the bag without ensuring that it's orientation is mostly vertical.So recently I dropped my bottle and it must've landed cap first. The plastic that the cap hinges on broke so the seal is not great anymore. Time to go back to the regular cap

I have always loved my Swell bottles for their ability to keep liquids hot or cold but found that it wasn't always convenient to have to unscrew the lid off. This is perfect and mine doesn't leak at all. I have already ordered another one.
