Excellent mecha frame, picks up where Mixel left off- 4.5 stars
The concept is amazing. I bought the Ranger, a tan mech with brown highlights. It is similar in size to the smaller Ninjago mechs. Lets look at this from points. The good: First off, I want to be able to pick up bricks in the tan and brown seen here. Lego doesn't do earth tone worth a damn. Particularly the tan lightsaber handle- I"m going to be swapping a couple of black ones into this to free these up.The frame is an evolution of Lego's Mixel ball joints. I don't have any that aren't in use, but they look to be the right size. Several of the parts use a clip, and it standard rod size. The elbow/knee joint is BRILLIANT. I want to be able to buy these by the dozen. The torso is not brickbuilt, but that's fine, it's a chassis. The articulation presented here would be a great addition. There are several details I'll honestly be ripping off for my own mecha MOCs- the use of two 45677s for a sheild, for example. The bad. The clutch is a little flakey on some of these parts isn't quite right. Some were very tight to go on and I expect to see them separating over time. The antenna I got is undersized and would not stay in the clip, but swapping the clip for one of the spare right angle blocks was an easy fix. There are a couple of blocks that had weird corners, but nothing an emery board didn't fix. All of that does make me wonder if, over time, the joints will loosen up from having been on display for an extended period. The design itself has a couple of odd points. The optic turret at the top of the hatch isn't balanced, and that the turntable I got is a little slack in it's fit, it will twist about in a heartbead- easily fixed. The hydrant/tap/hose pieces that you're to use as stocks for the rifle and SMG are undersized, and their placement restricts the range of motion- another easy fix, leave them off. There are others, but they all come down to what a Lego purist would call "illegal" connections and are compounded by the minor molding issues that give us the clutch problem. Fortunately, there are enough spare parts to fix all of it. These shouldn't a big problem for someone who displays them or uses them for diorama builds, but may lead to people play with them getting frustrated (particularly small people). The ugly. The directions could use some improvement. In particular, the image shown on page 8 as step 5 of part 1 is grossly misleading- mounting the arms and legs at this point would complicate things. But if you read ahead, you'll find that the instructions don't expect you to be there yet. The images themselves are a little blurry in a few places. So, with all that said, will I buy more? You bet your heavy metal boots! The mecha itself is beautiful, and that it can accommodate a minifig is a great touch. I will do a bit more tinkering to fix the weak points (like the shield falling off that single stud too easy), but it is easily 85-90% of being on par with Lego in terms of technical/manufacturing execution, and is already equal to many Mega and Cobi sets I have. In terms of design, probably about the same- as I said, some unstable connections compounded by parts MAYBE a hundredth of a millimeter out of perfect. No Kragle, just MOC the fixes.

Just good of quality as lego
I bought this model trying to see the quality of the bricks, i was happy and satisfied with the quality after having assembeled it. I think that it is just as good quality as lego just without the name brand of lego. I will be buying more MyBuild sets in the future. I would recommend this to anyone interested in getting these sets.

No real issue mostly a me thing.
I honestly just finished mine. It's only drawback is the heads swivel. So I took off that part and replaced it with one of the Slade single stud 2x2 flats. Now it's not spinning like a mad lad. Wish it was the darker orange/Brown and not the Sandy tan but it will do.
