Sizzix Thinlits Die Set Holiday Shadow Box #2 by Katelyn Lizardi (34-Pack), MultiColor

Very fun and easy to use, makes an awesome 3 dimensional card for the holidays. The framelits were well made (solid thickness, no issues). There are a ton of little dies to decorate the scene with! I felt really excited about the endless possibilities you can have to decorate the shadow box to create various scenes since they all scale together really well. After making a few of these, I would recommend using a heavier weight cardstock for the "shadow box" (especially since it gets folded into an envelope). You have to be careful about what paper you use (which side to cut front side up or down) to keep the pattern side showing in the front. You can fussy cut pieces to glue on a second layer for the decorative top area, but it makes the box top heavy, so it helps using heavier cardstock from the whole frame on the base layer if you make it this way.

When I first got this die set, I wasn’t impressed with it. It seemed unwieldy and not worth the effort. However, the more I worked with it, the more I got hooked on the process and the outcome. Along with the main shape dies, I also appreciated all the small dies that are part of the set - houses, animals, etc. I am also using other dies along with those in the set.

This shadow box die is a must have. The end result is worth the money. I also have the #1 set too. If you use thicker cardstock it stands up better. I have all of Katelyn Lizardi Christmas dies they are all great to have.

There are no directions. I made the first one out of standard 65 lb card stock and the card would not stand up (it tipped over and fell to the floor).

Great value die set. Definitely needs heavier cardstock for the basic frame, but the intricate top needed multiple passes through my cuttlebug and was still difficult as didn’t cut cleanly.
