For the first time I learned how the other person thinks, whereas until now I had focused only on what was happening in my head.The wake-up quote for me was “When you are pitching your highly rehearsed pitch, the other person is not reacting to any of the highly evolved ideas, he doesn’t first react to it as a ‘good idea’. Their first reaction is - since this not an emergency how can I ignore it or spend the least amount of time possible on it”The author further explains this by stating that although ideas are created and pitched by the neocortex part of your brain, they are received by the croc brain of a personThis made me realise why so many times what I think and say doesn’t land in the same way I wish it to be.The idea of ‘croc brain’ explained in the book is transformative.He gives a simple instruction kit of croc brain and how it works:- if this doesn't appear dangerous, ignore it- if this is not new and exciting, ignore it- if it is new, summarise it as quickly as possible and forget about the details- do not send anything up to the neocortex for problem solving unless you have a situation that is completely unexpected and totally out of the ordinary (VERY IMPORTANT)With this in mind he explains in the book what is the most effective way to pitch anything in life- investments, job, salary increment.Once you understand how the human brain functions while receiving information, he gives a step-by-step guide thereafter.He basically believes “Good pitching depends on method. It can be learned”I have made excessive notes from this book and I plan to refer to it every time I am pitching to anybody.Some lessons from this book have stayed with me and have permanently evolved my perspective about the person in front of me.I rate this book 5/5

Never thought that anyone one could sell or pitch something with such dominance...I am surely going to try frames at every possible social interaction , be it pleasure or business!!!
