My granddaughter had problems with 4th grade math. Bought this workbook to help her review and get more confidence and speed in answering questions. Working well and the answers in the back are really helpful for me.

On my first day of high school math class, the teacher wrote a quote on the blackboard: "Let us watch well our beginnings and the results will manage themselves." She meant it both as a suggestion to pay attention starting Day 1 and a warning - no late homework.This quote could be the mantra of the Sylvan workbooks such as BASIC MATH SUCCESS. Not only do I wish I had these tools available to me when I was in 4th grade, but I also wish the schools would license Sylvan's approach to learning.The worksheets in these books are presented in a clean and clever way that grabs and holds my daughter's attention. Many pages start with an example problem being explained and solved. The work area per page is generous enough to allow room for problem-solving computations. I especially liked the presentations on fractions and measuring.There's attention to detail in these workbooks and sensitivity to how kids learn - they like it to be entertaining and accessible. Sylvan offers both the fun and the freedom to develop their love of learning.Another excellent feature of the Sylvan product line is the graduated learning levels. Your child can move up to the  Fourth Grade Super Math Success (Sylvan Super Workbooks) (Math Super Workbooks)  after completing this workbook. I highly recommend these workbooks for your young student. Give them a beginning that will show results.

Love the Sylvan books and we have used them at every grade level that they are available. I do wish that they had books available for middle school and high school since they are the best organized, easiest to use, and most fun for kids. We have been lost in trying to find an equivalent book for older kids.
