I learned my lesson with this product: steel is the right choice in material for a lock ring. It's not worth the weight savings to get an aluminum lock ring. I sheared straight through part of the lock ring my very first time trying to secure it. I did use a proper lock ring tool too. If this didn't have 4 notches, I probably wouldn't have been able to get it off my bike. I ended up shearing through two of the notches between installing and immediately uninstalling it. Amazon quickly refunded me for this purchase, thankfully.
