Best Agar to use for candy!
Living Jin is the ONLY agar agar that does not gloop up on me, I had bought another brand and what a waste, can't use it at all and wasted about 10lbs of sugar trying over and over. Re-ordered Living Jin and its been perfect every batch!! Mahalo for the quality!!

Made a nice, egg/allergy free caramel flan with this. Came out fantastic! I don't do much baking but this little bag will definitely last me a good year.

The product is great but the directions are misleading.
First let me say that I was very satisfied with the performance of the product. The agar is odorless and tasteless and gelled very well. But the directions for use are very misleading. The directions state to use 1 tablespoon per cup of water yet every other source I looked into suggested 1 teaspoon per cup of water. 1 tablespoon was far too much and waste of the product 1 teaspoon worked well giving a firm but not tough gel. Also directions state to completely dissolve the powder but does not say anything about heating the liquid to do so. The liquid must be brought to a gentle boil to completely dissolved the powder. This may be why some buyers had trouble getting the product to work. revising the directions would save a lot of confusion for people who are not familiar with using agar.

Made the ingredients turn into flan which was the point of the purchase…
I put together a 70th birthday party for my brother who is vegan… I made flan as part of the dessert and it called tour agar agar. I’ve never used it before I don’t know that I’ll use it again however it worked fine and it created flaw with the other ingredients. That’s as much as I know…
