ASUS Designo 27" 1440P Monitor (MZ27AQL) - QHD (2560 x 1440), IPS, Build-in Speakers & Subwoofer, Height Adjustable

Initial impressions after one day, just because there's only one other review:Pros:* No dead or stuck pixels on mine.* Good picture quality.* Normal IPS glow, but fairly even--no major areas of bleed.* Stand is better than expected--height adjustment (a major reason for selecting this model), and only really wobbles when I touch it.* Sound is excellent *for a monitor*. Cheap speakers would still beat it, but if you don't want the additional desktop clutter (I don't) it is perfectly adequate for casual use.* Light weight if that matters--the only real advantage I can find to the ultra-thin panel. It is ultra-thin, but since you're not normally looking at it from the side, you don't really notice that. The stand itself is small, so if you're pressed for space behind the monitor that is good--but that's really about the stand, not the monitor, except to the extent a light weight monitor can use a smaller stand, I guess.* 1440p is the sweet spot for a 27" monitor, but that's not really anything specific to this one.* Joystick menu control is much easier to use than hidden buttons.* Ghosting not really noticeable--as good as any other 60 hz IPS I've seen.Cons (all very minor):* Joystick menu control is on the rear so you have to feel for it, but there's really no other place for it to go, and I still find it better than buttons on the bottom of a monitor.* Headphone jack is on the rear making it a pain to reach, but that seems to be true of virtually every monitor.* 75-100 hz refresh rate would have been nice, but for some reason that is still non-existent on mid-range IPS monitors as far I could find, and 60 hz is fine.Other:These are initial impressions after a few hours of testing, if there'd been more than 1 other review I would have waited until a couple of months before posting a review.

Great monitor, I was looking for a beautiful 27 monitor for my new mac mini set up. This was perfect for the job. Its totally ADJUSTABLE up and down, and thats a plus, because all the monitors I initially wanted, don't even have the basic feature of adjusting the height, really ? common. I decided I am not giving companies my money if they would force me to buy a separate adjustable stand, what a waste of more money and time and stress. This came with everything I needed. It even came with the little subwoofer which makes the sound way different, good different. I like it and its actually much smaller than it seems in the photo. Resolution is AWESOME ! I was looking for 4K initially, but with 4K you loose frame rate, quite a bit. This resolution is so nice and crisp, and the frame rate remains high, and no issues here. I do edit 4K video projects with it without an issue, and I am glad I picked this one. Cons ? Its a little wobbly. Soon as you tap the desk just a bit it shakes a little. I have not looked into whether I can further tighten the stand yet, simply because I have been using it without issue, and I have a sturdy desk which I try not to shake anyway. Overall, Asus made a really nice wide monitor here, and I am glad I picked this over a bulky apple 4k or 5k squarish monitor with ugly thick bezel/borders. This was an awesome purchase so far. Easy to set up right out of the box. No paper manual however, which I thought was weird.

The monitor is so pretty, and the sound is amazing (for speakers attached to monitors). I love the colors, and the size.. the 2K resolution works very well for me. There is "IPS Glow", but you only see it if you look from the side, and the screen is completely black. Other than that, everything works amazingly well. I don't do gaming on it, just videos and web browsing. All the adjustment (up /down, turn, tilt) works well for me and the stand feels solid.

Bought it for the built in speakers. Speakers are a bit weak but appropriate for a monitor. If you are seeking high volume sound, you’ll need something bigger. Over all, great for what we use it for.

Got this after deciding I couldn't work from home for an extended period of time just using my 14" laptop screen. Set up was extremely easy and worked right when I plugged in. The sound is ok although I didn't purchase it for its speaker quality. Only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because the monitor seems ever so slightly crooked. You can tilt, swivel and adjust the height, but can't level it. It's slightly noticeable but not enough to bother me too much while working. The picture is very sharp and I love being able to have two adequately sized windows open side by side.

Great monitor! I use it for my RetroPie and it looks and sounds great!Ignore the negative reviews and buy it now! : )

Nothing to dislike fantastic monitor fast and secure shipping

Good picture, colors, etc. but all controls operate off of a single small toggle button on back of screen. Very difficult to make volume and other adjustments. Had I know about this feature, I would not have purchased it.

I am a visual artist who also games. I’ve been looking for a large IPS monitor for a while. This monitor looks great for both purposes. The colour selection is decent - I will likely upgrade in the future for something with a higher colour gamut but that will put me in the thousands of dollar range which is a whole different class of monitor. For this resolution this monitor was a steal and it truly performs with a beautiful picture. Nice and sharp. I took a chance on a warehouse deal and picked it up for $230. Box was dinged but not a scratch on the device. So I am VERY happy with this purchase.Pros: easy adjustment up and down with a very smooth and elegant sliding mechanism. Tilts nicely too. Elegant design. Low profile frameless design with brushed aluminum looking finish. Good picture quality. Good frame rate. Great resolution. Nice high end without going into 4K and losing frames. I like the middle ground. IPS so great for me wiggling in my chair when trying to edit images. Putting it together was a synch and I didn’t even need a screwdriver to do it.Cons: it’s SUPER thin. Manipulating it makes me nervous as the screen bends/flexes easily. Every time I wake it up it flashes “digital port” or “HDMI” on the screen and that irritates the crap out of me. It’s HDMI, sound and other cable ports are located on the back. Convenient to be able to plug devices or cables in here, but have to move the monitor completely around to get to it - and it feels fragile so I hate doing it. Thankfully I control my sound through external speakers that I can plug headphones into directly. So once set up I have no need to plug things in here. But if you want to put a pair of headphones in the jack on the back of the screen and remove them a lot it could get annoying.

Great all in one monitor. I like the button placement for adjustment volume and screen options. My table top feels less cluttered now.
