Wish I had discovered hot rollers much sooner!
My hair is very thick, so thick I cannot let it air dry, because it takes hours and hours. So I have to blow-dry it. It comes out looking limp and blah no matter what kind of brush or product I use. So my solution, to give it some body, was nearly always to use a curling iron. Curling irons are really hot and damage your hair with frequent use.Hot Rollers to the rescue! These things are so nifty. Plug it in, I let it heat up for between 5-10 minutes (while I'm taking a shower), and then roll up the hair, and leave them in while I do other stuff like brush teeth, do makeup, etc etc. Take out and hair has pretty waves and body! I love that it fits into my routine so easily, I don't have to spend 30 minutes curling my hair. The rollers may get slightly hot to the touch, but it's way less heat than a curling iron so they are much better for your hair!At first I started out using a Tresemme Heat Protectant spray, but putting product in before using the rollers made my hair a bit "crunchy" feeling. I don't use any product anymore and hair looks great.I have noticed that the indicating dot on turns white before the rollers are really hot. They are warm, and useable, but if you want defined curls, wait longer than 5 minutes, and leave them in your hair for more than 15 minutes. The only nitpik I have with these is that there aren't enough rollers to do ALL of my hair. If you have very thick and fairly long hair like me, you may find you run out of rollers. Trying to use very large, thick sections of hair for each roller is problematic and I gave up on that. But since you start from the top of your head, it adds body and volume to the top layers, and the very bottom layer of hair I either leave alone, or give a very quick curl with the curling iron just at the ends.I use the "superclips" that come with the package. I did order the wire clips since everyone seems to say they are better. I couldn't really figure out how to secure them. The purple clips are really easy to use and I don't see any "lines" like some other people complain about.

Good Value for the Price - Fast shipping
It gets Hot enough. Nice curl. Many of the reviewers don't care for the claw clips. I liked them. They worked well for me. No indenting. I do wish they had some kind of holder/case. I just used an old cosmetic bag to store them in. I have shoulder length, a decent amount of hair. But stick straight baby fine and hard to curl hair.. I use a bit of hairspray after their up in the rollers. Then let cool completely. If you used hot roller back in the day, and were thinking maybe I should try them again? I would say yes. It will not be the same type of curl you get with an Iron though. It is faster and great for quick everyday look.

variety of jumbo curlers but loads of design flaws
The actual curlers are great. 4 super jumbo with the rest are jumbo size. They heat quickly, however there's no light or signal that they are heated and ready to use. (Some others I have used in the past have a light change when fully hot) I'm very disappointed with the clips. They just will not stay in. The clips continue to frustrate me and although I have even tried using 2 clips with little success.Once the curlers are hot, I have to use gloves to handle them! The curlers do not have adequate finger buffers that remain cool enough to handle. I've had these for months but still haven't figured out how to handle the hot curlers without burns. On other sets, the exposed plastic plastic at each end acts as a buffer against the extreme heatAnd finally, the curlers rest on a metal strip that heats the curlers, which means there's a slit down on end. I understand the design, but wonder if the designers ever tried to roll long hair? Because no matter how I try to avoid getting my hair entangled in those slots.. It hurts and spoils the look of the curls. My other sets do not have slits so imo this is no bueno.I would not purchase these again. All the flaws are design issues and can not satisfactorily be worked around at home by the user. There's No "drying power" lol. If your hair is wet, be careful of steam burns. These will literally raise blisters from the heat. This set is advertised as travel size-but it's so big I'm not going to be able to use these for travel,. This one set takes up more space in my suitcase than two actual travel sized hot curler setsAll in all, I recommend a pass on purchase due to the large numbers of design and size flaws. There's much better designs made by other companies
