Mushrooms of the World with Pictures to Color (Dover Nature Coloring Book)

I love mushrooms so I really like this realistically drawn coloring book of mushrooms. The educational writing at the bottom of each page describing the pictured mushrooms is excellent. By googling the names given, I was able to determine how to realistically color the page with my color pencils. I would have given it a five star, but I dislike the paper quality and that the pages are double sided. The paper is too thin to use water and the pressure from the colored pencils transferred the drawing from the backside of the next picture onto the page beneath. Don't color in this book unless you put a heavy sheet of paper under the one you are coloring and don't use markers or water based media.

Overall pretty cool book, not sure how accurate the info is on the pages as I tried looking some up to color them correctly and didnt find any such mushrooms. Nonetheless, I got it for coloring and it served its purpose well in that aspect!

We are teaching our 3 year old son the mushroom collection and we really like the book. I am sure the son will like it too.

Perfect gift to give at mushroom club. Saving one for grandson who enjoys foraging also.

Double sided pages on thin paper. Would be fine for colored pencils, but not markers, which is my preferred medium. However, it reads like a book and has nice information on each mushroom with colored references.

The media could not be loaded.  Classic 1984 coloring book.I use it for drawing reference and it’s perfect.

Purchased as a gift for my daughter. She loves it.

Gave this as a gift. Was a little disappointed in the quality not very many pages and thin paper but nice drawings.

It's an ok book. The photographs are not great, but if you like colouring mushrooms, you'll enjoy it. The quality of the print is ok, but the paper is very thin (though single sided).

livret anglophone agrafé souple grand format ancien (1984) présentant 92 espèces emblématiques de champignons du monde en n&b prêtes à être coloriés; en bas de page, les noms en anglais et en latin de l'espèce avec une petite notice explicative; des images en couleur servant de modèles sont sur les pages de garde pour un certain nombre d'entre elles en groupe; ce livre de coloriage non exhaustif mais bien fait et sérieux sera parfait pour l'initiation à ces espèces d'enfants de plus de sept ans suffisamment soigneux et patients pour s'appliquer; je dois reconnaître avoir été favorablement surpris par la qualité de cette publication, ayant été échaudé par plusieurs tentatives précédentes, et je dois dire que j'ai enfin trouvé ce que je cherchais et j'envisage d'acquérir d'autres ouvrages de la même série (taper sur le moteur de recherche d'Amazon: Dover coloring book); je pense qu'il vaut mieux préférer les ouvrages neufs même s'ils sont légèrement plus chers pour éviter le risque de se retrouver avec un exemplaire crayonné! ou endommagé (ce qui était le cas pour plusieurs pages de cet exemplaire)

I love mushrooms but a bit unhappy that the paper is rather thin and no blank pages behind each picture.
