Taking care of business
First off...dont pay attention to the 1 star reviews. Karen gets upset very easily these days. This machine works great for the price, so unless you want to spend 18,000 bucks for a similar product, deal with the flaws and such and get to work. This machine spits out the labels with photo quality.

Works but has issus.
While this printer will print labels as described, it has some major draw backs.1. Tech support is poor and the people were rude and they gave us the run around for days before telling us there was no solution to the problem.2. It does not disclose the fact that they have engineered the driver and printer to not allow you to share this printer on a network. While it states it is fully Windows compatible, clearly that aspect of Windows compatibility is non existent and even prevented. We manufacture thousands of products to order and had the need to allow engineers and packers to print labels from several network computers. Network sharing did not work and we were given the runaround by tech support both on the phone and email for weeks, only to finally be told that it can not be a shared network printer. They purposely have this engineered out.We did find an expensive per seat third party software solution to finally get around this, since no refund was possible.Who designs a printer to work with Windows and then prevents it from being a shared printer? They do.3. The print driver and printer does must be manually told when you change label sizes and does not seem to have any reasonable edge detection. So if you switch label sizes, you must configure the driver for the new label size and hope you get it lined up correctly or waste labels figuring it out. While they may have a solution for this, we are so frustrated with the runaround we have already gotten, we have given up dealing with them. The added cost of buying third party software to meet the simply needs of sharing it on a network, plus over 12 hours of technician's debugging time, drove or costs up by another $2000. It should be noted that even a print server device can not share this printer. If this tiny bit of critical information had be disclosed up front, we would not have purchased this printer.

If you are looking to print high quality, water resistant labels this is not the machine for you.
If you are looking to print high quality, water resistant labels this is not the machine for you. The quality of the labels pale in comparison to outsourcing to professional printers. YOU WILL NOT SAVE MONEY BY USING THIS FOR YOUR IN-HOUSE PRINT NEEDS. We thought this would be our savior but it wound up costing us an arm and a leg and a few wholesale accounts. You will burn through tons of bad test labels every time you run a job, even more if you are switching out label sizes often. Beware of the labels and ink you buy, Primera will knowingly sell you ink and labels that are not compatible. We’ve tried combos of the dye and the pigment with glossy paper labels & extreme tuff labels and they all had issues with either smearing, discoloration over time, and over dullness in print quality.

Wastes $100’s of labels
I have been attempting to use this product for years. Pretty much any time you attempt to print something, the printer feeds through 10/15 labels before it can find the beginning of the next one, if at all. Usually have 3-4 false starts where the printer starts printing in the middle of the label. Firmware updates usually kill all alignment, causing a massive headache and more wasted labels. When calling tech support, you are lucky to get a response at all. This is a terrible product, from an even worse company. Stay away or check out VIP Color. Pathetic.
