I am trying in my later years to take good care of myself. The Dr. Oz show and the Dr. Daniel Amen books have made this possible. In changing my eating habits I need to change the way I cook, this cookbook (Change Your Brain, Change Your Life Cookbook) helps me do so. I also have his book Change Your Brain, Change Your Life. This is one of the best books I have ever read. I want to send one to each family member, and to my good friends. Great book! I have a friend with ADD, (attention deficit disorder), and have tried to help this person learn to do better in his life, so I ordered Dr. Amens book, Healing ADD. Again, it is VERY informative and helpful to learn what the person is going through who suffers with ADD. And Dr. Amen shows there is help for anyone who has ADD. Dr. Amen covers every question you might have on each topic he writes about. His explanations are well written and easy to undertand.

Enlightened and Encouraged
I sat and read it from cover to cover writing a grocery list for a whole foods grocery store so that i would have the items on hand. The pictures are encouraging and inviting! I am interested in doing most of the recipes. I find if I will start with these then I can adapt more recipes off these originals! I find that helpful! My only improvement would be an index in the back to find what I am looking for more readily. Other than that I find the book a wonderful help for starting to change my brain and my health!

A better cookbook
The book is a source of much information, not just recipes. I have already started to substitute Almond Milk for my regular milk and after getting used to the taste now prefer it to regular milk. I have used one of the soup receipes and even my picky eater was eating everything good for him without taking out half of the vegetables and putting them into my bowl as he has done in the past. If you are thinking about doing a little something good for yourself and your family, this is a great place to start.

Brain exercise
Dr. Aaman has put on CD his material from his book based on all his clinical knowledge and research. He has great insight how to exercise your brain and treat it with the right supplements in order to have a more fulfilling life. The CD set makes it easy to get the information for those of us that have a difficult time getting a book read. You can pop in the CD's in your car or at home..anywhere that is convenient so that you can start to learn what you can do for yourself and your family to improve your brain health now and into the future. He really knows what he is talking about, and you will find something for everyone on his 11 CD set.

Good
I can't really complain about the recipes contained in the book they are healthy and the photos within the book are exquisitely photographed. My complaint is there are more pictures than recipes. The book is as thick as a children's Dr. Seus book. For the price paid I was expecting more. Yes it was a hardback edition, but is still no excuse for charging cover price of $29.95 or even a discounted price of half that amount. IF you want to save money, get yourself a good used copy and or wait until the paperback version comes out.

Eating healthy is more important then we know. This is a super healthy eating cookbok. I have not tried all the recipes yet but the ones I have tried are good to very good. If you want a healthy body and brain and a GREAT price on this book buy it from Amazon! I went to Dr. Amen's seminar and they are much higher there or on his website. Great brains and great bodies start with healthy food!

Must Try
While I admit I haven't made any of the recipes, I know I'll be trying most of them. From what I've read so far, I believe this cookbook will head me in the right directions. I not only want to eat well, I want to feel well, with little to no effort. I didn't see any crazy ingredience I don't already use, but did see some that look interesting.So I believe I made the purchase.

Turkey Chili Fans
Weight was not our issue, but want a healthier diet to prevent aging and illness issues down the road. One of the first things I made was the turkey chili. It was a big hit, my husband would eat it every day. Some of the recipes have a lot of ingredients, but it has been an adventure having new entrees for supper. Definitely worth the money.

Excellent tasty well illustrated recipes
We are what we eat on so many levels.It makes so much sense that when we are feeding our bodies, we are also nourishing our brains.Tana helps us understand that foods that are good for the brain is also good for the body. It does not cost that much more to eat healthy. Our bodies are so much healthier went we can let go of cravings for unhealthy foods and our brains so much sharper.Donuts at staff meetings are dumber-downers. You wont find any donut recipes here.I do believe that proper nutrition such as suggested by Tana helps with anxiety and depression. It's fun experimenting on myself and my family with Tana's recipes.Suggestion for better conserving this cookbook: It would be great if there were spirals inside the hard book cover because then it would be much easier to turn the pages without them turning back. Also I would want to stand the book upright to the proper page in a clear recipe book protector - hold so that the pages remain in pristine condition to consult the recipes while cooking.

Sehr enttäuschend
Die Bücher von Dr. Amen haben bei mir wirklich eine Veränderung im Lebenswandel bewirkt. Da ich Kochbüchern sowieso schlecht widerstehen kann, hatte ich gehofft, hier noch viele leckere Rezepte zu finden. Leider gehen die einseitigen Rezepte völlig an meinem Lebensstil vorbei.Gesund essen schön und gut, aber ohne Fleisch, ohne Zucker, fast ohne Kohlehydrate und weitestgehend ohne Milchprodukte - wo bleibt denn da der Genuss? Da kann Frau Amen noch so erzählen, dass sie nicht hungert, aber Spaß macht das ja auch nicht unbedingt.Außerdem stört es mich extrem, ein Kochbuch von einer Frau zu lesen, die eine Seite lang über die Kochkünste der persönlichen Familien-Köchin schwärmt. Macht das Buch auch nicht gerade glaubwürdig.Die Rezepte passen zu allen typischen Eiweiß-Diäten (South Beach, David Kirsch etc.), da gibt es aber sicher bessere Kochbücher. Für Normalsterbliche, die sich einfach nur gesund ernähren möchten, taugt das Buch m. E. nicht. Als Ergänzung zu 'The Amen Solution' oder 'Change your brain, change your body' ebenfalls sehr enttäuschend. Den Stern vergebe ich nur wegen der Desserts.
